What flavoring would be the best choice for a cherry that DOESNT taste like cough syrup?
And what brand of strawberry flavoring has a clean taste (no funky aftertaste)??

Hi Zelphie,

The PA Maraschino Cherry smells and tastes just like those jarred maraschino cherries. It's a pretty strong flavor like the other cherries, so you dont have to use that much. That may be the flavor you're looking for, but I really like PA Black Cherry also. PA and LorAnn Strawberry are both very good in my opinion, so either would be fine though you will get more for your money with the PA brand.

The easiest way to sweeten your liquid is with PA Cotton Candy flavoring (which is pretty much an 10% Ethyl Maltol dilution in PG), or also the PA Sweetener, which uses sucralose as the sweetening ingredient. Both would do well to sweeten your liquid.

All of the cherry flavors seem to benefit from a sweetener like the PA Sweetener or Cotton Candy.

Taste is subjective, so I can only give you my personal experience and preference.

Thank you, that was very helpful. I just realized I have another question. Im looking for a sweet caramel that tastes like caramal candies, the first thing that comes to mind is PA caramal candy but Im wondering if it has a burnt or rum (PA website says it has a sort of rum flavor)flavor to it. Ive only tried one caramel so far and it tasted like burnt plastic lol. If anyone has tried it and wants to comment, please do.

The caramel candy is similar to a werthers but you could sweeten it more with the cotton candy, the (reg) caramel reminds me of brown sugar and butter mix on the bottom of rolls.
