Immortal Atomizers

hey guys,

it's not often I post on here, (in fact I barely ever do) but about a week after buying my first set of 510 batteries and atty's I posted a [thread=55768]thread[/thread] in the 'introduce yourself' section of the forum. As a result I've had a really good reference for when I started vaping (17th Dec 2009).

Now, I've followed the threads on atomizer maintenance with great interest, I like to think that once I buy something I can learn to maintain it and I'll get my money's worth. In this case I think that I've got that and more because I'm still vaping with my three original batteries and my 7 original atomizers. Today, after cleaning them I noticed a nasty looking crack in the gold banding of one of my atty's but I dripped some liquid in and it's still vaping! I think I've been incredibly lucky as far as vaping goes but I just wanted to post this to say that though you might buy an atty and find it's DOA, it's still possible to receive an awesome product. I tend to clean them once a week in diet coke and then use one a day for the rest of the week, if anyone's interested, it's always worked like a charm.

Anyway, to get to the crux of this post, has anyone else found this can happen? I don't know if it's because of the age of my atty or what, but I've not heard of this kind of thing happening before.

I've done a quick search of the forum but sometimes these things are just a matter of wording and you miss things. So if this has been addressed before I apologise.

Oh yeah, has anyone else got immortal atomizers? I'm amazed at their lifespan. I did stop vaping for about 3 months in there somewhere but still, I'm impressed.

I would LOVE for them to last me that long! But I do tend to lean towards Carto's- But I'd still like to get at least a month out of each one- getting years is a DREAM!!~! COngrats!!

I know, the time's just flown by and I've never really though 'these are lasting a long time', but before I bought them I read all the stories on here about atomizers breaking or gunking up and I think it's made me extra careful; I always make sure my atomizers are wet, I never vape for more than 5 seconds at a time and I take a lot of care with my cleaning, a coke bath overnight followed by a water bath for an hour or so, followed by me blowing through each atty and then wrapping it in tissue paper and leaving it for a few hours, then dripping into each and tentatively reheating them until they vape well again.

I was thinking it might be the lack of sugar in the diet coke (which might be deposited in the atty, i don't know) and the water bath to dissolve out anything else the coke left in. Either way as I said I'm really happy with them!
