I'm making some major changes over the next week in order to increase our shipping speed and better serve Virgin Vapor's customers. My technical administrator has created a program that allows us to quickly download all the details of past orders and see what people like most and order most often. Looking at the data has shown us some important ways that we can streamline and simplify. In response to this, I am making the following changes.

I will be eliminating a few of our flavors that aren't ordered very often. We have around 125 unique organic flavors available and I will be cutting back at least a few of them (don't worry, most of them will stay!). I'll also be rotating some flavors based on time of the year, holiday season, or bringing them out now and then as monthly specials. If there's a flavor you're just dying to have that isn't currently offered, you can always write me to find out if I can sneak you a bottle from our private reserve!

In order to be able to quickly ship most orders, I am going to start batch mixing flavors a few ounces at a time. This will give me more control over quality and the ability to do quality control testing with more precision that is just not possible when hand mixing each individual bottle. In addition, it will allow for at least a little pre-stepping time and will also enable me to immediately ship what most people order the most often.

As many of you know, I am always happy to customize any order and I don't charge anything extra for this service. However, this has started to cause significant delays to orders that do not request customization as it takes me a lot longer to make a custom PG/VG mix, calculate a special nicotine level for your bottle size, custom thin or create a custom flavor mix and file your personal recipe. I'm still happy to do all of this for anyone that wants it and making sure that each order you place with Virgin Vapor is exactly how you want it remains very important to me! However, I am making some changes in order to make a distinction between custom orders and regular orders to prevent delays and order backlog for people that order from the standard menu. This will keep things moving so that standard orders can still expect fast shipping while people that want something special will understand that it takes a little extra time to put in that special, personalized effort that Virgin Vapor's customers love so much!

I am getting rid of the "light flavor" and "extra flavor" distinction. Very few people order light flavor so it makes it easier to batch mix what most people want by taking this off the standard menu. Anyone who prefers the lighter flavor can still order it with the understanding that it will take a little longer to ship since it will now be a custom order.

Only about 10% of orders are for our 80/20 PG VG mix. In order to be able to batch mix and simplify, I am eliminating this option since so few people want it. I can still make this mix for you as a customized order, but this way custom orders will not slow down the creation and shipping of the majority of orders or cause as much of an order backlog.

I welcome feedback, comments and suggestions as we make this transition over the next week. It may be a little bumpy at first and our new plan may require some more tweaking, but I hope these changes will enable us to ultimately come out the other side with faster shipping, more reliable quality controls and happier Virgin Vapor customers!

Annette,

Thanks for the info. The changes you are implementing sound great and hopefully will streamline your process and enable you to keep up with your business which sounds like its growing. One suggestion is about the bottle dropper tops you started putting on the bottles. Maybe it would save on your costs if on orders with several bottles, you use the regular bottle caps and send along a bottle dropper or two. My reason for this is that I usually let my liquids steep for a period of time and I think that leaving the bottle droppers on might mute the flavor/quality a bit not sure, but I prefer not to steep with the bottle droppers on. Just a thought.

Good luck with your plans and I wish you lots of success because your juices are sooooo good!

P.S. Any update on Kona Coffee Milkshake?

Hi Annette,

I am getting rid of the "light flavor" and "extra flavor" distinction. Very few people order light flavor so it makes it easier to batch mix what most people want by taking this off the standard menu. Anyone who prefers the lighter flavor can still order it with the understanding that it will take a little longer to ship since it will now be a custom order.

Does this mean that all juices are going to be "extra flavor" or would that be concidered a custom order? The reason I ask is because I had ordered a sample pack and it said that all sample packs were "extra flavor" because thats what most customers want. I was going to order some blueberry because that is the best flavor I've tasted thus far in my short time vaping but couldn't find an option for extra flavor and want to be sure it's the same as the one from the sample pack I tried.

Unrelated to the changes to your business (sorry), if I ordered the absolute blueberry would it taste the same as the Blueberry Bliss got in my sample pack?

Thank you for your help and for the superb product you produce!! :D

Hi Nezrend, yes, the standard mix is "extra flavor" so this is what you will receive if you do not request a custom mix. The Absolute blueberry tastes a bit different than the Blueberry Bliss. They're both good and both true blueberry flavors but they have different qualities to them. Hard to describe the difference though!
