important question

I'm sure ya'll have probably heard this question a million times on this forum. I have been visiting here for probably about a month and learned a bit about all the different types of E cigs. Well I also got caught up in the madness of Blu and ordered on June 7th. They "shipped" almost two weeks ago and today I got an email saying the shipment was delayed due to their stock being delayed. So I am going to cancel my order and move to something else, but the question is, what?
I am a menthol smoker and I am basically looking for a starter kit obviously juice is an optional method for me seeing as I'm still new to E cigarettes. I am looking for something that has good value for the price, produces a good if not large amount of vapor, has a good throat hit to it, and has a decent battery life and is convenient to charge and carry on me.
I've heard a lot of good things about the 501 and the EVO. But I am done with Blu. Can anybody here please help me on purchasing a good E cigarette?
Thanks for the help.

How much do you smoke?
How much do you want it to look like a normal cigarette?
Do you think you would mind pushing a little button to activate the battery?

Can you tell us about your cigarette usage. Brand and # of packs/day? THis is important because some units are not the best for heavy usage and we can tell you enits to steer clear of............

I smoke Kools, about a pack every 3 days. I would like it to look like a real cigarette if possible, but color is not an issue. And I would like to have it where I just suck in and the battery activates as such.

Sounds like you're kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place then.

In general, the more it looks like a cigarette, the worse the battery life and performance.
And if you want good throat hit and lots of vapor, you might need to consider pushing a button.

Other than that, you might get enough of what you are looking for out of the M401 (EVO) model.
I have never tried one so I can't say for sure.

Looking for the following...
1) Good throat hit
2) Lots of vapor
3) Good battery life
4) Not pushing a button
5) Looking more like a cigarette

That's a tough list of criterion to meet.
I think we would all buy that one if we could find it.
:)

There are so many different models because there are various tradeoffs.

So if I am understanding, you smoke about 10 cigs a day.

With that low usage almost any unit from a reputable supplier will work for you. I understand what you are saying about the automatic battery, but trust me when I say that you stand a better change of longer unit life and a more satisfying experience with a manual battery.

However, if you want an automatic, I would say your basic DSE 901 would work just fine for you. For the manual battery, I would recommend the 510.

It has been awhile since I have purchased a 901, so I am not sure of the best price and warranty, someone can make a recommendation on that. For a 510, I only get mine from Widows Bead Work - Home $50 include free priority shipping.

I don't use menthol, so I will leave that for some who does to point you in the right direction.

Good Luck!
