 So went for some coils for my Moms aspires......and staring at me is this BLUE carbon Freakshow....
I don't NEED another rba.....but damn.....did I tell ya it was blue.

I get home and wash it and sit down to put a build on it and as I'm drying it off.....i pop off a tiny bit of the finish at/near the air flow

Not a big deal, but I reeeaaaalllly only bought it for the finish/color.

I am mostly a single coil kinda girl (i know the buying for the color didn't give that away) so i wanted to plug up one of the airflow holes.....
dug out the box of junk and pulled 2 of those little plugs that came with the ole RSST....pinched and pushed them in there....BINGO!
Less air and less LEAKY LEAKY too.

As long as I can keep from looking at that damn chip in the finish I should be OK....I think:p

I can understand seeing something and buying it because of the color on most things. I would have probably waited til I got home and tried to find it cheaper than a B&M can sell it for but I take "frugal" to a new level. Really clever of you to use plugs and make it work better.

I really dig the blue....but man I cannot get my black one to stop leaking! No matter how I build it or wick it, the thing leaks like a faucet. Not cool unscrewing an atty only to find a blob of premium juice on my box mod. Ugh.

Really dig the carbon blue though.. Looks good on your mod.

I feel your pain..........steep learning curve on this thing me thinks......I'm trying to fight the leaks myself!

First shot was closing down the air-flow with the addition of the plugs.....didn't buy it for clouds......just looks:p

Watched a few videos on building this thing.......may need to push back and slightly off center the build and push back the cotton so as to not be right over the air-flow...

I usually build my Magma with nice puffy shoulders........but the air-flow hole is so much smaller.....juice doesn't just run right back out the damn thing!

Plus the well is tiny as hell, if I put 6 drops in the thing I better start hitting it or it wants to run out.......three pulls and I need to redrip.........

I can get 7-8 drops in my tiny ... Atomic with a single coil build and no leaky leaky.....plus get great flavor. BUT damn it, its not BLUE:laugh:

I plan on playing around with it this weekend maybe. I'll push the coils back even further. I knew not to build them directly over the air holes, but perhaps you're right about needing to be back further and off centered a bit. Other than the leaky leak (lol!) I love the thing. Big happy clouds of deliciousness. :)

I should mention though, if I get it working correctly, and end up buying a carbon blue one to match my Sig150, I'm totally blaming you! lol

So did you get one of Sigs?

Yeah, I've got the blue Sig150. I haven't put it down since I bought it. When shopping for a box, I seriously considered getting something like the IPV3 but decided on this one instead. So glad I did! I'm in love with it. No really...I am. I should probably not be telling people about my feelings for an inanimate object, but I can't help it. Sexy LCD display screen, magnetic back plate instead of those tiny screws that strip out and plenty of power! And I can vape dual coils at 100+ watts for 8 or 9 hours without having to swap batteries. :D

Sorry...didn't mean to jack your thread. lol

NO...must fight urges.....didn't think I would ever need 20 watts or 30 watts and now I have 1 Istick 50watt....still don't NEED 50 watts.
I'm building my rba collection and getting better at building coils.....but I still have never needed to go low sub ohm and high watt...YET.
Never say never..... I would still be vaping my kr808's

Building the coil a little off center could be the answer. I got a Freakshow a couple of weeks ago and since it's my first RDA the guy at the shop helped me build my first coil. We positioned it off center and I've had no leaking issues. Never really counted how many drops I can get in there but if I totally saturate the cotton I can get the drip well nearly full and it lasts me about as long if not longer than an old stinky would. I can usually go 30-45 minutes chain vaping.

I will be playing with the build, cause I love the way it looks on my Mod, I want to love it! But if its just a weepy pain in the .... to use, I have other to use.....and then there are always others to BUY!

Sorry about your chip. I would absolutely hate myself if I had done that. Colors are pretty but since I'm so rough on stuff I usually stick with brushed finishes.

Oh yeah, I was livid... I had not even used it yet, just gave it a good washing....i think there was just a tiny enough piece where the airflow slot was cut out and it snagged on the paper towel and snapped off a chip.......oh the language that crossed my lips:mad:

Well I got a less leaky build going on now.
Single twisted 28 gage seven wraps 0.7 ohm.....set back and over closer to neg post, cotton tucked in and behind airflow hole over to other side of the deck.

It works.....so I'll leave it for now.....

But on another note, tonight my Istick 50W decided to just start fireing on its own....I'm just sitting here vaping and playing with all my stuff, wiping off devices and tasting juice samples and she just starts all by herself, scared the crap out of me!

Did it a couple of times...three times I think. So I hurried and unscrewed the Freakshow the first time, second time I watched it time out at 10 seconds and the third time i pulled it off again.......

Now I'm sitting here drinking a beer staring at the damn thing waiting for it to do it again......damn it all to hell.....may have just lost faith in this thing.

And I love it and it has just been married to its soul mate......its perfect BLUE matching FREAKSHOW.
Just when I was going to shop for the perfect wedding present......the perfect drip tip!

Update on Istick50.....Freakshow....
Made it a point to only use the Istick all day today, no other devices.....it never fired on its own once today.

The only thing I've done differently today than any other time since I've owned it was I locked the wattage.

And my new build is less leaky....

Will be keeping my eye on it and taking off the rda and tuning off from now on when I go to bed.....something I never did before.....may be should have been doing this all along:facepalm:
