Just got back from a four day vacation that started the day after I recieved two mods.... I decided to take five mods with atomizers, and test their configurations on the road.... I figured I'd share my results with you guys.
The four mods/atomizer ocmbos I used were as follows:
Vamo V5 with a Kayfun lite
Nemesis clone+magnet+kick(15w) from FT with the Squape
Caravela clone with the Fogger V4
Origin mod with the Aqua in Hybrid mode.
Ego VV with a mini protank II
Driving down there, I started off with the Kayfun/Vamo combo. Almost immediately, I got a gurgling with it, and juice started leaking. This was probably a bad seating on the seal on the kayfun, but in either case, it knocked it out of commission within 2 hours of driving. At the first stop, It got put into the tupperware and wasn't touched for the remainder of the trip. The second backup was the VV ego with the mini protankII. During my trip with the mini protank, I kept getting dry hits. Since my juice was more VG rated, it didn't wet the wick fast enough, and I and to keep priming the atomizer. I didn't use it much for the remainder of the trip, just vaping with it occasionally. The first main one was the nemesis+kick+magnet. while driving, this became my main. It lasted me through almost an entire tank. I was a little upsetat the fact that I had to fiddle with the adjustments from time to time, since it wouldn't fire occasionally. For a vape while driving, it was a poor choice, since it took five twists of the locking ring to fully lock it. Because of that, while driving through a town looking for a park to stop at, it wasn't locked down fully (due to not enough turns on the locking ring)... wentt to pick it up and found out it was extremely hot with little or no juice... it was on constant "on" for way too long. No leaks, but it got so hot, that afterwards, I couldn't remove the atomizer from the top part of the mod... so it was rendered useless for the remainderof the trip.
After the first day, three mods were called out of action, and that left me with the caravella clone/figger and Aqua/origin hybrid setup. The Caravela/fogger hybrid took center stage on this trip. The Caravela's locking ring never did fail me, and didn't require a lot of twisting to lock it. when low on juice, just removed the atomizer, removed the screw, and filled slowly. setup was great, but flavor was just slightly below what I'd call a main vape. It worked flawlessly though,a nd not one gurgle or leak. The airflow control ring was loose, but didn't hinder it at all. from time to time, I would use the aqua/origin mod. This was the shortest of all my mods, and that setup worked well. Occasionally, the bottom "throw adjustment" would get caught on the spring, and would throw the adjustment so far out while locking the mod.. I would occasionally have to take the bottom cap off and re-tighten it which became annoying.
Overall, the #1 performer was the Caravella/fogger combo, second was the origin/Aqua contendor, and a good backup with the ego.. once I got home, I rewicked the nemesis/squape and had to use a vice to remove the atomizer from the top of the mod. I think a few added washers might fix the origin/aqua setup. For the protank/ego setup, perhaps blocking one of the airholes might help draw in the higher VG juice, or I can go to a more PG based fluid for that setup. The Caravella/fogger setup is pretty much a perfect combo. The Vamo/Kayfun... well, I might have found a better ADV with the nemesis/kick setup, so those might have to be shelved.
