Inaccurate mod specs or am i missing something?

When looking at various mod specs, i see a lot of info that doesn't make sense to me.

For example the ipv mini spec states that the max amp draw is 13, but according to ohm's law 30W at 0.5 ohm is 7.74A

So are the specs just wrong or is the chip doing something i'm not aware of?

Do not confuse limitations, based on battery specs of a mech mod to the limitations of a REGULATED mod. Regulated mod is regulated so that you can BREAK the natural laws of electricity, to which the mech mod is bound. The Regulated mod has circuitry that allows it to outside the limits of NATURAL LAW.

Regulated mods draw "extra" amps to boost voltage (sort answer). They also have some internal loss due to electronics (negligible usually, but depends on design).
So the spec is saying (if I understand your post...haven't read the spec) that it will draw at most 13 amps from the battery....and the battery must be able to support that.

That doesn't mean you get 13 amps output at a higher voltage.

The mod will boost voltage as necessary (drawing amps to do it) to achieve a consistant desired voltage/wattage even as the battery voltage drops over time.
