The stainless steel igo-w is made of is pretty hard and thick. I don't think any reasonable amount of hand filing would work, provided you are able to find a file that is strong enough and fits inside the stock hole. IMO you will need a power tool of some kind to get the job done. You must know someone who owns a drill or a dremel, just make sure you have the correct size bit.

Ill ask around if anyone I know has a drill, or I might try going to the local hardware store and asking them to do it for me then, damn I was hoping I could get away with a file!

Being SS you would be there forever with a jewellers grade needle file, copycat dremel sets out there usually come with a couple of chamfering and hole finishing bits and the extra high speed of the dremel type will make it a breeze, Focus or B&Q used to sell cheapo sets for under 20 quid.

The silver lining too is having a dremelly type thing means you can polish, clean and even engrave your items as well as making a hole bigger but make sure you get a bit capable of handling SS as a normal untempered bit will have issues.

If you are up for spending a few bucks to make your Igo-W look much nicer, try getting a replacement top cap from cap it all vapes. You can find them by doing a search on facebook. The caps come with holes pre-drilled to 1/16", which is bloody perfect in my book.

im surprised nobody has mentioned the use of a file. go to home depot and get a cheap filing kit. it should come with a tapered needle file that is fully capable of making your airhole bigger. ive used them since the begining of my rebuildable adventure.

Jeweler's file mentioned at least twice.

I didn't vote for drill press because I didn't get the feeling OP was looking for that response.

Just an FYI, the Igo-W takes forever to drill out. I think I broke about 3-4 bits and dulled a few as well trying to drill mine out. I've been told that in order to drill them out properly, you need High Speed Steel bits, a drill press, and some sort of drilling lubricant. After my experience, I'm going to save up for an rda with adjustable airflow. If I were you, I'd go to a local shop and see if they can drill it out for you.

I've been using my cheap HSS bits in a drill press. Takes a good while to drill thick decks but caps drill pretty fast. 1/8" bit holding up well. I've burned up two 1/16" bits.

The old SS kitchen knife did noticeably open up air flow to my surprise; I'd guess 1.2mm to 1.4mm.
