Well, drilling out the airhole is not going to make your PV blow up, so you're good there. The larger the hole, the more whistle, in my experience. Sometimes removing any burrs from drilling the holes can help.
whistling occurs as air passes through a small hole. my guesstimate would be that the smaller holes you had previously didn't whistle because it was higher pitched and wasn't audibly detectable by you. now that the hole is 1/8", the note became much lower and audible. you can try drawing slower? or try ignoring it. the harder you draw the more it'll whistle.
1/8 is a giant airhole, but I drilled my Igo-W to 5/64 and I get a slight whistle.
You could, but top caps can get pretty hot and I know I don't want to be vaping any gasses that the JB weld may release when heated. Buying a new top cap would be the best approach, imo.
i second that. i wouldn't risk anything with air contact getting contaminated before my lungs.
Over stimulate your ears with the same pitch until you can't hear that frequency anymore? Jk

I just drilled mine out to 1/8 as well. its silent when i draw on it very light but when i hit it normally i swear my whole house can hear this thing (all the neighbors too i would imagine lol) when i suck on it really hard (hehe) the whistling does stop but when i stop my hit, it whistles for a split second.
i will be trying to sand off those burrs and see if anything helps. oh and also ive noticed that only 1 side of my cap whistles. when i put my finger over the hole maybe 1/4 of the way,on the one side, it stops whistling

I was doing a search on the forums about whistling from air holes......I followed the directive on filing down the rough edges inside the top cap of my igo-w. It really lessened the whistling but I still sound like Thomas the Tank Engine LOL
Take a large bit (I used 1/2") and very slowly drill out a small amount around the hole. No more whistle.
THAANKKKKKKK YYOOUUUU!!!!!! man that was driving me nuts!!! i have a clear cap on an IGO-W and it was making me insane.
