TH is 90% two things: nicotine strength and warmth of the vapor. PG lets more of the TH from the nicotine through and VG mutes it. Stepping up to a 5 volt or variable volt/watt PV will help maintain the TH somewhat as you decrease the nicotine strength. Adding some PG to the primarilly VG liquid will do very little. But even with a 5 volt or VV model, once you get to around 8mg nic strength and lower, you won't be getting much TH. When you reach 0 nicotine strength, you will have 0 throat hit.

Additives such as PGA or pepper do nothing but cause a throat irritation, which is not real throat hit.

Thanks wv2win,

I need to learn some more on the on the whole volt effect. I gathered that much from the rest. Not sure what my volt readings are, but I have been sampling juices with an ego t type B, regular atty and LR atty. I am using a 1100 MAH passthrough bats. I am kinda weary of the LR because they seem die so easily even with taking extra care and keep them cleaned on about a 5 day cycle.

That is a common problem with LR attys/cartos and why I don't recommend them for the best vaping experience. Plus they degrade quickly and are very inconsistent.

Your best bet is to get a good 5 volt or variable volt/watt model PV. Not only will you get warmer vapor and better throat hit, but with some of the better VV models, they are also have boost circuits that keeps the power from the batteries to the carto/atty constant even as the battery drains, so you have the ultimate in consistency. What you have now is just 3.7 volts. 5 volts or VV, where you can set the power level between 3.7 volt - 6 volts, will definitely give you better TH. And with these models you can use standard resistence cartos/attys that will hold up better or dual coil cartomizers. Here are several that I would look at:

5 volt GLV2 (lifetime warranty): GLV-2 Electronic Cigarette [GLV-2] - $120.00 : Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

Power regulated, variable watt Darwin: Nhaler

Variable volt EVO: EVO V2 Kit

5 volt Box Mod: 5V Regulated Mod - Ken's Boxmods

Thank you very much! I will have to make plans for that when making my next move into a new kit.

I don't like PG base much myself, for in the beginning we didn't jive to well. I love the VG base liquids!

Is there much of a maintenance and cost difference when it come to the atty if I go that route? They have tank systems too?

No. You may go through attys/cartos a just a little more quickly because you are vaping at a higher heat level but I'm talking a few days quicker, that's all.

I will agree with wv2win...stepping up to a variable voltage device, or at least a 5V, will increase your TH. As for a good atty, I only like one and that's the dual coil atomizers from cloudsofvapors.com. They withstand vaping at 6V. I've been using the same 2 I bought when they were first released several months ago. I use them for about an hour a day and then give them a weekly cleaning. Haven't noticed anything starting to fail in terms of performance yet.
