Inductance atomizer?

I was watching a youtube video today, and wondered if the same methodology could be applied to e-cigs.

From the looks of it, ceramic is used as an insulator... I've heard of ceramic wicks, so I wonder if it would work the same for an atomizer? Theoretically, if it would work scaled down, we wouldn't have to build coils anymore or worry about burning wicks and filler, worst case scenario would be that the metal insert would melt.

Am I just nuts?

I could be speaking in complete ignorance, but I think induction heating requires several kilowatts of electricity to work. I remember seeing a video of someone using induction heating or a similar method as an atomizer, but just as a demonstration/experiment. I don't think it'd work at all on a smaller scale.

Well that's a real kick in the kadiddlehopper. Sure does make a nice sound though, awfully reminiscent of vaping.

I got bored and tried to make my own induction vaporiser. Due to the lossy nature of primary to secondary coupling, it required too much power to be efficient. However, it did work. I wouldn't recommend it, my experience was similar to Raidy and Pailpoe, who both tried it before me.
