Well I bit the bullet and ordered an Indulgence w extended cup, and.. weut!!
First impressions:
The giftbox packaging was very neat and well presented, it seemed alot smaller than I was expecting.
Having reading some reviews I immediately looked for some known issues (crooked threads, sharp engraving edges, poor finish around the button) but none were present on my issue.
The silver finish around the button and everywhere else is perfect.
Rubbing my finger over the "Indulgence" logo was not sharp or rough.
All my attys screw on fine and are straight. (had to be gentle with the 801 the first time)
Initially impressed, I plugged in the charger and paced around waiting for the battery to charge.... licking my lips in anticipation...
Performance and Flavor:
After giving up waiting I grabbed a battery and screwed the thing together, selected the 801 atty and juiced up a new cart.
I gave it a few primer puffs and was immediately impressed with the amount of vapor produced and proceeded to fill the room with thick clouds of goodness.
After breaking it in I topped off the cart and dropped a few more drips in the atty for good measure and had a few hundred drags.
The vapor was plentiful but the flavor was lacking, and had a burnt taste to it, I know I was over-zealous and a bit too excited.... but I just could not stop pressing that button!
I then grabbed my trusty old 510 atty and adapter cap squeezed in some chocolate flavored juice and smoked it up.
I normally prefer a 901 to the 510 as it gives better flavor (IMO) but was gobsmacked at the chocolaty-ness that was detected.
My Mrs, feeling rather ignored and slightly jealous came up to me for a cuddle, caught a whiff and immediately said "mmm, is that chocolate?"
Inspired by the new depth of flavor I grabbed my 901 and tried a few flavors that had been previously lacking, I now realise it wasn't the juice that lacked flavor, it was just that my standard batteries didn't have the power to unlock them.
Flavor now has depth and true taste! compared to faint resemblance and slight scent.
Throat-hit:
Throat-hit seems very dependent on the juice/atty, and shouldn't be confused with harshness.
Some high nic juices I have are very sooth with little TH, but are still very satisfying.
For high TH I have a PG26-(tobacco[4]/double mint[2]/menthol[3]/spearmint[1]/kent[2]) + VG36 or VG60 that is great in times of high stress.
Overall:
I am very happy with my purchase, I have been swapping between the extended cup and the standard, and testing all my different atties and now the burnt taste has subsided with 801 have settled for the extended cup with the 801 as my main hanging around the house, all-day set-up, it's BIG, and it gets the job done.
When I am going to work or out socialising I will take the standard cup with the 510 or pre-filled DPV9 carto's as it is quite discrete and portable.
I included some photos of some of the different variations and used the CD as a point of reference to give others an idea of actual size.
I also noticed some others were saying that the 18650 battery wouldn't fit in the included charger, but it does.... just!
Cons:
The only issue is with the DPV9 carto, is that there seems to be too much air allowed in creating a drag that is too easy, but I will just slide a rubber "O" ring down to where the thread is, it isn't really a design fault, as it has to accommodate the 901 as well.
I hope this helps anyone contemplating getting this mod.
Summary:
Presentation-8/10 Nice box, insert and display. (although disposable)
Looks/design-9/10 Sleek, Shiny and smooth.
Versatility- 10/10 All adapter caps included and used with the extended cup, you are free to choose your best combo. (3.7/6v anyone?)
Performance- 9/10 It works as it should, Great vapor, flavor and TH. Gives freedom away from a usb port.
Price- 10/10 It's almost stealing!
Service- ??/10 Usually 10/10 but I didn't get my Stick mod with this order, so I will reserve this score until that issue is resolved.
