Inexpensive DIY Starter Kit

I started vapin a little over a week ago and want to get into DIY for the cost savings. I have been scouring the forums for day and looked at over 1000 threads trying to find information on where to purchase an inexpensive DIY kit. Some people say buy from this vendor, others from that vendor, and still more say that they are a waste of time and to piece together a kit of your own.

So I am asking; Who, what, and how much?

Another question: double dose I know (two questions on the same thread, but I swear they are related)-- I am looking for a flavoring sample pack (preferably super-concentrated)- a bunch of smaller size flavor sample to find my fave. Any ideas? Same as above, who, what, and how much?

120ml of 48 or 60 mg nicotine in PG
250ml of PG
250ml of VG
WL flavorings are about $1.50 each (pick up 15-20 to start)
ONE MIL syringe (pick up TEN) use these to measure flavorings
TEN MIL syringe (BUY TWO) use these to measure PG, VG and nic
18 gauge Luer Lock blunt tip needles- put these on ONE MIL syringes
14 gauge Luer Lock blunt tip needles- put these on TEN MIL syringes
15 mil plastic bottles (buy 6)
30 mil plastic bottles (buy 6)

Use cheap latex gloves if u want, pick up distilled water to rinse your syringes out well at WALMART by the gallon 88 cents)

All that and only thing I'd add is get more bottles. If you get 6 and think that will be enough get 12 more. You can't get enough bottles. What Red put in there is almost identical to my first order.

I ordered everything that you said, with the exception of unflavored nic and syringes...both sold out. I went over to MFS for those. Thanx for the help. Prob went overboard, though...ended up spending almost $70 usd.

Remember you thought that after you spend $60 or so a couple more times because you realized you still don't have enough of something. I've been adding to that original order for 5 months! And bought a bunch of stuff local before I made that order! Lol!

After you start DIY'ing you tend to flavor hunt for a few months. After a period of 5-6 months making juice you pretty much know what company has the flavor you are looking for.

Yea I spent around 60 dollars I think my first order. Not overboard at all. The one suggestion I Have is to make sure to write flavors your interested in down. You'll save a lot on shipping if you do some research for a bit. THen put in the order.

Thanx for all the advice. One issue that i am running into right now is that there is not a B&M store selling anything related to vaping for hours around here. I have to order everything online. I am a very tactile person. Before I buy something I like to look at it, pick it up, get a general feel for the item. That is impossible in my current situation. That is why I have to rely on the people here!

I realize this is an old thread but it's the closest that answers questions I had for the exception of one.
If my current mg of choice is in my ejuice is 12mg or lower, why is it necessary to purchase 120ml of 48 or 60 mg nicotine in PG when it's available in 12mg?
Is there are reason to get that high a nic strength?

This is pretty much the only thing I need clarification on before placing my 1st DIY order.

If you're aiming for a TOTAL JUICE NIC CONTENT of 12mg....if you USE 12mg Nic liquid IN THE MIX.....you'd have to use 100% nic !!
If you haven't done so already....download an e-juice calculator -- there are many --- one of the more popular is EjuiceMeUp...
You simply fill in the necessary spaces.....Target nic level, total juice quantity, VG/PG ratio, etc. -- and the calculator gives you amounts for each substance...
Think RATIOS!!! If you're shooting for,say, 15ml of juice and want 24mg/ml total nic content.....using 100mg/ml nic base, it's 24% of the TOTAL PRODUCT (15ml).....so 15 X .24 = 3.6ml of nic base...
It sounds more complicated than it really IS.....If you use 100mg/ml base, everything is divisible by factors of 100....
Probably why the 100mg/ml nic is always OUT OF STOCK everywhere!!
Play with one of the juice calculators....plug in some arbitrary figures to see how it works!!

I like loranns watermelon, keylime, strawberry and many others. You can get many of these from hobby lobby.
I get my extracts, pg and vg from ktorisEcigs.com. Little know secret I guess because they always have nicotine in stock unlike wizard labs and the prices are comparable. Maybe a little less on the nic and much less on the pg and bg and they have free shipping on top of it. They say everything is USP including the nicotine. I look for USP nic because I have got nicotine that smells like pesticide.
