So i just got this mod a few days ago. So far so good. I do have one thing that id like to discuss because ive never seen it in a mod before, in the one picture you can see down the tube and at the bottom is a little black ring. That black ring is like a 1mm paper shim. Ive neer seen this used in a mod before but if you dont install that in the bottom of the tube the mod will just fire all by itself. Is this normal? ive only had a few other mech mods and none of them had this.

The button on the bottom is smooth, im pretty sure its just a spring, but i dont wanna take it apart to find out, if you even can with this mod ( The button may be able to unscrew from the bottom? not sure). Seems good so far. Only complaint is that the button does stick out a hair so when its sitting on a table its not completely flat and stable, but doesnt fire. Im hoping maybe it will just wear in eventually?

Seems to have a pretty low voltage drop and fires my new atlantis tank very well.

Overall im pretty happy with it so far, other then the issue of the the paper shim under the battery. but perhaps thats normal and someone can give me some info on that.

If it isn't sitting flat, odds are it is a spring. You may be able to adjust this my tinkering with the spring.

Thanks, any idea what's up with the battery shim thing I described? 70 some people saw this and no one has any idea what I'm talking about? I'm hoping it's normal because it's kinda scares me leaving my mod around knowig the only thing keeping it from making a full circuit is a piece of cardboard stock lol

70 people are curious about your mod, hoping to find useful info. What's the point of everyone who doesn't own your mod guessing about its internals? I'd surmise it's a cheap paper insulator that should have been made of delrin at the minimum, but I'm not the one staring at it.

Be adventurous and take it apart. Share your learning experience.

Well i was hoping that what im talking about isnt specific to my mod. But apparently it is. Theres nothing to take apart. look at the picture i posted. it just sits at the bottom of the tube. I figured someone would know what i was talking about. All it does is keep the negative battery contact from touching the base of the mod. I wish they would have sent something made of derlin and maybe i wouldnt feel so sketchy about using it. But thanks for taking the time to reply and not help at all. like most of this forum.

Yes maybe taking it apart would help with the spring, but im not concerned with that. Im concerned with the battery shim issue, which doesnt need to be taken apart at all to figure out. So if you dont have any information on that or have anything useful to say go away so someone with knowledge on this topic can answer.

I agree that the fact that the only insulator used in the button is made of paper/card stock seems a bit sketchy. All the mechs I've seen have used Delrin which seems like it would hold up a lot better overtime. (And wouldn't fall apart if you accidentally got it wet.)

Thank you. Thats what i thought. any idea where i could possibly buy a derlin version of what they sent me? Ive never seen this before.

I just looked on there and didnt see the "round blanks" any chance u have a link to the item your talking about? Thanks for the info. Im a little disappointed in this mod, it looks great and works great but a silly piece of paper as the insulator seems like i got ripped off a little lol. Considering that infinite makes tons of mods that have normal insulators its weird.

They're about half way down the "Shop" page, unfortunately he doesn't have individual pages for each product. If you search the page for "Top Cap Delrin Disc Blanks" you should find them. I think they should be large enough that you could cut/shape them down with a file or dremmel to make them fit in there.
