I've been looking to upgrade from my 510 to a mod. I really like the look and performance of the screwdriver but have some basic questions:

1.) Where can I get one? Most sites seem to be out or backordered.
Wouldn't mind to order from across the pond, but would prefer in the
U.S.

2.) I know it comes with a 901 atty, but can I get a 510 adapter with the
order?

3.) What's the voltage? More or less than the Janty Stick?

4.) How long does the battery typically last?

1)they are in stock 'across the pond'

2)Theses adapters come highly recommended, haven't used 'em myself:
E-Cig Multi Adaptors -

3) They use 3.7v 16340's

4) Chain vaping, a batt will usually go 'round 5hrs for me. That's with the 901/4075 of course.

Same battery and comes with a 510 adapter check out
Home - AdapteveR Home of the ORIGINAL USA built PV

I've been carrying an SD w/901 and an AR w/510 for close to 2 months now. Both are fine. There are other's that support the 510, Super T comes to mind.

Luck

have you checked out the protege at puresmoker? while its not 5v(or 6V w/upgrade)like the SD. it will still give a longer batt life. ant IMO the higher volts on the SD would not be kind to a 510 atty.

5 or 6 volts on the Screwdriver? I'm not aware of that option. I recently bought a SD from across the pond. Arrived within 8 days of ordering. It is a very nice device. Reliable, consistent, good vapor. But it is a 3.7 workhorse.

It is a very good companion to my Janty Stick. I use them alternately. While one is cooling I'm vap'n with the other.

my mistake its the GG and prodogy that run at higher volts. my point was flameboy that the 510 already runs hot and would not benefit from more power and may even lead to early failure.

Ooops. That bit about people raggin on the SD was off the cuff skyward, by no means directed at you. Just get happy when talkin' about what works! :D

.................................................. ........................................

I recommend getting a model that runs 5 volts. Increased voltage gives better throat hit... and more, thicker vapor.

The S.D. is a neat little unit. I used to have two of them.

Sold 'em both. I can honestly say that I do not miss them at all.

I had the 901/4075 attys. They burned hot, and could not produce the amount of vapor I needed.

I don't go through atomizers any faster than I did with my Screw Driver.
.................................................................................................................

Here's why:

At 3.7 volts, I had to hit my atomizer harder. Longer drags produced a very hot coil. I literally was "over working" the atomizer at 3.7 volts.
Because my Prodigy uses more volts, it means shorter drag time to produce better results.

So you see it's a "horse apiece", when it comes to atomizer life span.

{Longer, lower powered hits}, vs. (higher power, shorter hits).
......................................................................................................................

The 510 is a better performer than the 901 atomizer. If you get a S.D., you'll be "stuck" with using the 901.
The 901 will NOT be better than your 510.

Like many on the forum, I've spent multiple hundreds of dollars on PV's.

I've been there, done that.

I use an 801 atomizer with the five volt. An excellent combination.

3.7 volts will, Never...Ever, compare to 5 volts on performance.

There are a variety of five volt models available.

Do your research on the forum, decide which best suits your needs.

olderthandirt; When it comes down to the nitty gritty everything is just a battery holder. I am totaly unconcerned with looks, just performance.

My Janty Stick out performs everything I've tried as for as reliability draw after draw after draw. The SD is second, possibly since I've only had it a week. I alternate 'tween them.

By the way my SD is with a 801 atty. As is my JS.

I have a Prodigy lying in a drawer. Loved it the first two days, then it went to hell, VERY poor performance. Cleaned everything, switched bats, switched chargers, did everything recommended on all the advice threads... still underperformed. Finally I've ordered another switch, its the only thing left to try. I believe this will fix the issue, but we will see. If not the Prodigy will be buried and forgotten.

i am personally not a big fan of 5v devices , i get better flavor and a reckless throat hit using a 510 atty on my SD. At 5v a lot of my juice that i usually love taste bad and the attys get WAY to hot , even with a 3 second drag , on my puresmoker passthrough , which i do love , i only get about 4 drags before i have to let it sit and cool off.

just my 2 cents

You'll see I've said the same myself for quite some time sheerluck. Agreed that looks aren't all that important, a benefit of advanced maturity being I don't care about looks, but form does have a bit to do with function. In this case in how the things fit the hand. You'll like the SD!

I've had some problems with connections, poor performance on my Prodigy also. I fixed it by cleaning all brass and the aluminum connections with metal polishing creme.
I was amazed at the amount of tarnish/grime that came off of the contacts.
It was a lot!
You want the brass and aluminum end cap/threads to have a "chrome-like" shine. The threads on the body must be shined up also.
I have had no switch problems on my Prodigy.

I would agree with GrimmGreen on the flavor aspect.
3.7 does produce better flavor. I was content to give up the slight flavor loss, because 5 volts produced the vapor I needed. As a smoker for 25 years of Marb. reds/full strength cigarettes, 3.7 volt did not cut it on vapor production.
The only way I could get enough vapor from 3.7 volts was to primer puff, or hit the thing for so long, the vapor was hot (which gives the WRONG kind of throat hit). Then the roof of my mouth would be tender from the heat. It felt like when you eat pizza that's too hot.
I get plenty of throat hit from 5 volts. It's pretty much common sense, more power will do that. BUT, I don't have to fry my atty so hot to achieve that with 5 volts. 3-4 second drag at 5 volts... perfect!

To say that 3.7 volts produces better results is simply wrong.
3.7 volts cannot not perform as efficiently as 5 volts... period.

I vape only tobacco/cigarette flavors, so flavor was not an issue. Perhaps if I vaped Fruity, or candy flavors, maybe 5 volts greatly reduce the taste pleasure more with those?
In my opinion fruity/candy flavors= Crap. Although I do love my coffee flavor... a lot.

As far as heat factor, my 801 does not get too hot at 5 volts. It is much better than 901 or -510, and it does not leak either, unlike the 901 atty.
801's are known for not producing heat, and the ability to handle higher power. That is why many people prefer them. They are awesome for dripping also.

The 801 matched with 5 volts of power is all I'll ever need. Simply a winning combination in my opinion.

I wash out my atomizers with 190 proof Pure grain alcohol (EverClear), every couple of days. This method keeps my atty's tasting pretty good.
