This is WAY too much info to take in. I've spent days researching different ecigs and I'm still confused. Can anyone give me some straight forward answers? PLEASE.

I'm searching for the best ecig but I'm looking for an Ultra Light Menthol and I would really like one to be all white. Not a big fan of the brown tip.

Currently I'm looking at the ecig by Blu but don't see any posts about that so I'm curious as to why. Also, are all cartridges interchangeable? In other words, if I buy Blu and decide to change, can I use those cartridges on another brand?

Also, has anyone tried 0mg nicotine? I don't think that's my choice since I'm a pk/day smoker - just curious about it. Does it give the same sensation?

What are the important factors to keep in mind? Battery life? 2 vs 3 parts? Types of cartridges? Number of hits per cartridge?

Someone please help clear up my boggled brain!!

Sticky: The Wonderful World of Vaping: An Illustrated Guide to E-cigs (Parts 1 through 5 of 6) PLEASE DO NOT POST IN HERE!!! THANK YOU

Please look at the url I posted, about halfway down it will show you lots of E-Cigs..most have Black tips not brown. There was a company at one time with white tips..Joye I think..but I can't find it at the moment!
There are a lot of all black and white with black tips for sale. As well as red and blue, green and wood tone.

The parts are for the most part NOT interchangeable. There are adapters for different reasons, and some do fit other brands..once in a while. But you need to stick with one type..like all 510's fit all other 510's..all 901's fit any other 901 from other companies ect. But 901's DO NOT fit 510's.
Some of the e-cigs like Vapor Kings are the same as cignots and whatever..all KR808d-1's They have just been rebranded. If you are unsure, ask here.

Blu has a forum at the bottom of the front page in the supplier's area. Please ask them anything you want to know, they will be pleased to answer you. If you can't start a thread yet, just ask in an established thread.

I vape 0nic part time and 11mg or 6 mg the rest. 0 nic is for flavor and unless it's a menthol/mint provides no throat hit at all. That's ok for me because I am almost to the point of not needing nic...almost. Plus I am a wimp and don't like throat hits! But the 0nic is the same feeling as smoking .. to a point, this is not smoke, it's vapor and has a bit of a different feel to it.

Menthol is a flavor you will find in the juices when you order..theUltra is low nic. There are also mint, spearmint, wintergreen, and artic (peppermint). You will rarely find any flavor that matches your old cigarette flavor. That's because you didn't smoke menthol, you smoked menthol flavored tobacco with 3,999 other chemicals. You might want to find a mild tobacco and add a menthol/mint flavor to it. It won't be long before you are trying banana, clove, Cherry and 555.( a nutty flavored tobacco). I always suggest new people try a sampler size of several flavors, many suppliers have them. (3ml to 5 ml)

The most important thing to keep in mind is where you buy from! I don't care what you try..510, 901, a mod a 2 piece cartomizer..if you buy from a fly by night you will get ripped off! Look for a supplier on this board to start with, they almost all have great reps and fine return or replace policies. The prices stay low because of competition.

I have both 3 piece (901's) and 2 piece (cartomizer) and both are great! I like them for different reasons. My 3 piece allows me to have a one color (beside the black tip) e-cig, I can drip or swich tips quickly. With my adapter I can use cartomizers if I wish. With the KR808 cartomizer and battery, I have a long lasting cartomizer that is great while driving. The battery is a bit longer giving me more time between charges. I can use my 901 atomizer on a KR808.

Drawbacks of a 3 piece..you need to top off a lot. Shorter batts mean shorter time between changes. Drawbacks to a 2 piece, you get the color of carts they have ..some have colors to match the flavor, some have all green, making it a bit hard to decide what's in the cartomizer with out glasses. Refilling a cartomizer is simple, but not as easy as a regular cart.

The auto batteries give good service and nice hits..but the will get liquid in them and the swicth starts sticking. The manual batts are great because they are sealed..but IMO not as strong as the auto. Regardless..I prefer the sealed because I got tired of replacing the auto!

Amount of hits per cart? 8 to 20! It depends on YOU. Some people have to inhale the vapor for 10 seconds or until it hits their toenails..some just take shallow puffs!:p

Welcome to ECF!:)

I am confused about the part where you say you want an Ultra Light Menthol, preferably in white. Well, you can get the electronic cigarette itself to be in white (i.e 901, 510, etc) but as for the flavor, its a totally separate issue, you need to buy e-liquid, and in your case, look for a menthol and get low nicotine level.

I personally would not buy a Blu, because i heard their customer service is terrible and their parts break fast. Just what i've heard. Go with one of the more reputable models, such as 901, 801, 510. The 901 is solid on battery life and flavor, 801 has really good battery life but a bit bigger in size, the 510 has extremely good vapor production.

A pack a day smoker, i suggest starting at least 18mg nicotine, and slowly working your way down. 0mg is pointless to start out on.

You should load up on spare batteries and atomizers when you make your first purchase because e-cigs is a learning process. An atomizer might die for no reason, so having parts on hand is good. As for carts, i've only heard about whistle-tip ones and round ones, its all on preference.

Hope this helped a bit.

*NOTE* Just so you know, an e-cig that looks the most like a real cig in size will have shorter battery life than one that is bigger and may even be a different color, IMHO, if you want the best, as far as not having to keep refilling cartridges and replacing batteries, get a penstyle. Batteries last all day and only have to add a drop or two of liquid to cart only occasionally throughout the day.

For me, I don't care what color it is or what it looks like, as long as it's keeping me off of tobacco cigarettes, The way I see it, if it works for you, then who cares! If you don't mind changing batteries and adding liquids continuously all day, Go for it! But if long battery/cartridge life if more important to you, then go with the penstyle dse-801.

901's and 510's burn hotter. Cartomizers (carts with built-in attomizers) are expensive They can be taken apart if you know how, to re-fill them.

Thedse-801 penstyle, on the other hand, is nearly twice the size and only has polyester filling inside, that can easilly be rinsed out and refilled.

Thank you all for your responses. That helps but my brain is still boggled. So much to consider here. It's like buying a new car........... LOL.

I'm still leaning towards Blu for a few reasons but, according to this forum, is sounds like Blu is not the Preferred Choice and I'd like to know why. My reasons for leaning towards Blu are:

1) They claim their atomizers last longer than most.
2) Their carts are disposable and do not leak. That seems to be a lot easier than refilling.
3) I can purchase products individually (instead of a Starter Kit) and get a lot more for the price. For instance: 25 carts (multi-flavored), 2 atomizers, 2 batteries and 1 charger for $65.
4) Batts and Carts all in white - which resembles what I smoke now. I know you all think I'm crazy with this comment but it's a personal choice. I suppose as time goes on and I "hopefully" become an experienced vaper I may change my mind.
5) 25 flavors to choose from.
6) Also by purchasing individually, as stated above, my husband and I can each try it at the same time - or I can order add'l batteries for this purpose.

Does anyone see any problem with my logic? Can anyone give me a good reason why I should NOT choose Blu?

Any and all comments and/or advice are appreciated because........as you know........ I'm a rookie at this.

I don't know about all that Mickyo..my 801 is much hotter then the 901. I find the 801 to be a juice hog. Anyway..that's just me I guess.
Whatever you do, get plenty of juice atty's and batts. NOT 1 or 2 of each!

Do you have the high or low bridge atty?

Geo0319: I nearly bought a Blu for all the same reasons you mention here, but then I heard none of the things things they claim on their website is actually true, like battery life, and carts and such, sooo glad I did some research first.

What really helped me, is watching video review on youtube and on ECF on the different e-cigs. YouTube - blu e-cig

Your mom said not to say...
I could write a book on the differences and all that but that info is here already. If you want one that looks like a cigarette and has the best carts I would recommend a GreenCig but I am partial, I love mine. I have tried the m401, the 510 and a 6v mod, a KR808D-1 which is another great choice, and finally the GreenCig.

You don't see much info about the Blu because most people find it lacking although it does have it's cheerleaders as every model seems to have. The GreenCig and KR808D-1 carts last me for roughly 24 hrs of normal vaping as I would smoke. None of the others last more than a matter of hours if that. The 3 pc units are a PITA to refill, messy, and not that good really. Once you try a KR808D-1 or GreenCig you can see why the 3pc units are inferior. Yes, the cartomizers can be refilled and reused just as the 3 pc models can.

Every model has it's pro's and con's most people end up with more than one model anyway so don't sweat that part too much. I would start with a KR808D-1 or GreenCig if I was to start over again. I was looking at the cartomizers long and hard before I went with a 3 pc and after seeing the difference I wish I had gone with my gut in the first place.

There are tons of flavors for every taste too so don't let the 25 flavors of Blu brand blow you away, if the flavor exist it can be made. All E-Cigs carts are "disposable" you could go with a new cart with any model each time if you have the money to burn, most of us don't. You will see if you make the 3 pc purchase how that can add up really fast. 5 carts might get you through the day so do the math and see if that's cheap enough for you, I doubt it since that's way more expensive than smoking tobacco cigarettes!

You can buy the others individually as well. I really would strongly urge you to stay away from Blu and I am an affiliate! Don't it stand to reason that I would point you to my Blu page? I don't send anyone to that page though because the product is crap compared to other units and I won't tell someone to buy crap. They have the lovebird and couple kits for the KR808D-1 and GreenCig for couples that want to quit together. If you have your heart set on a 3 pc I think I would also look at the m401 before getting a Blu, they look like traditional cigarettes if that's really important. The 510 only comes in black I believe so that's not going to work for you.

Refilling the KR808D-1 carts is simple, you pop of the plastic end, remove the gasket and drip the liquid down the side of the cart into the filler that looks like a toilet paper roll on it's side, replace gasket and plastic top and you are done. Fast, clean, and no juice in the mouth or all over the place. Almost the same procedure with the GreenCig or you can get a needle for $1 and inject the juice from the atomizer end, simple, easy, fast and no mess. Don't let the cartomizer refilling scare you it's easier than refilling the carts on a 510 or m401 and faster.
