I use the RN4081. The atty is great, probably the best I have used. The batteries are the pits though. There is a model out there and the batteries are compatable. Get hold of someone from Heavens Gifts and they can tell you which model it is. There's also a compatability chart located in the Library Annex (located in the Social Groups).
No, I don't know the model because I use a NicoStick (self made mod). When ordering make sure you get the larger carts.

Heavens Gifts is a good place to order your stuff from too.

I will go against the general opinion on this one, from what I understand, and by looking at your needs I think you may find the SIDESHO from Modern Vapor to your liking, even if it is not a 510 model but a modified M402. It does have a comparable TH to the 510 and the carts hold more liquid, the kit is highly customizable and it does have a PCC.
Just another option for you, In any case, welcome and good luck.

Hmmm, I took a look at the SIDESHO, and I must say, you have made me think about it...which I'm kinda mad at because I was almost decided on the 510, hahaha...ok, can I get some more opinions on the SIDESHO from Modern Vapor? I like the starter kit, it has the options I want: options for both manual and auto batteries, a PCC, refillable cartridges, and even a normal carrying case (i was planning on buying on of these separately, regardless of what kit I end up getting) but I haven't really heard much about the company. That's pretty much the only thing that is keeping me from buying the SIDESHO right now, cause it seems perfect for me, thanks for suggesting it Mister Hyde (also found a nice coupon for 20% off my order, even more reason for me to get it, haha.) Hmmm, looks like it's time to do some SIDESHO research.

Take a look here.

That was the first 510 I bought. You choose your two batteries. You choose the color of the led, the color of the battery, and whether manual or auto, and you choose the color of your PCC. Is that not just what you are looking for?

Send them an email letting them know what flavor you would like for your two "accessories". I can't speak for them, but I had the same question when I placed my order. They were happy to oblige.

I'm starting to feel like a cignot shill. But really, I have been very happy with them. Email them - they will email you back faster than you expect.

Thanks for the input, i'll definitely do that if i end up ordering that kit, depending on what good or bad things I hear about the SIDESHO.

I suppose I'll be the one to suggest a kr808d-1... Check out V4L. Quick shipping, lots of options, and the Vapor King is a two piece so its a bit lower maintenance. You might try PMing one of their employees to see if you can get a mixed manual/auto kit. They are very accomodating.

I was seriously considering getting a kit from V4L, i really liked the Vapor King, and the style of their PCCs, however, i really don't want to use a two piece system because i want to just quickly and easily refill cartridges. Thanks for suggesting it though, it would be very good for my needs, i just don't like certain aspects of it.

Wow 3 pages of answers and only a mention of the great KR808.
ECF should just be called the 510 forum, all the long timers here always say get the 510.
I really think for the first timer or a person on the go should think about the 808. It's a great e-cig to transition over from smokes, and hands down great for running around.
Before you flame, I use the 510 all the time and I like it, but...

Just a small suggestion. Don't get too hung up on a pcc and make it a big factor in your decision. I ordered my kit w/o a pcc because my intent from the beginning was to upgrade the batts (eGo, which I did) which would render the case useless. With two eGo's (or similar) you have no need for a pcc.

Just a thought.

Yeah, I stopped looking for it as a main factor, but the latest kit i'm looking at has it anyways, so it was more of a bonus thing than a main factor thing...but finding the style i want with the battery life want is tricky, i found the PCC to be something that would let me worry less about battery life in my decision. Thanks for the help though, this forum has helped me so much in my search for the best kit for me to start with :)

Hi Scumpy,
I am new here too, but been very into vaping now ( and analog free) for a little over a month.

I got into the 510 system for starters. I was fortunate enough to order a 5v USB 510 passthrough (PT) with it on recommendations from here, and it is definitely a must have. So much so in fact that vaping at 3.7 volts with a standard or Mega 510 battery will all but be forgotten once you have tried the PT at 5v (or whatever exact voltage it is, some say less). But the bottom line is the experience is way better.

I got into this the same time as a friend, with the exact same kits, and we both agree, along with many others on here that the PT is the way to go. I also recently came upon the spring cartridge mod, and between those two things vaping is very pleasurable at 5v. So now it's trying to find the super high mAh portable battery pack or mobile power station that can supply the needed 1.5 to 2 mA to power the passthrough. Tough to find, and questionable whether it exists. I may have found it though, and am now in touch with the manufacturer, we'll see.

Overall though, unless you are looking at some kind of juicebox, the 510 USB PT system is killer, and you'll love it. If I were you, I'd be sure and get one in addition to your standard 510 batts- and you'd do slightly better to order the 510 mega kit, which has 280 mAh batteries instead of the standard 180 mAh 510 batteries.

So far I've had great service from MadVapes.com, and their 510 atty's have held up for at least this month so far without frying on the 5v PT under moderate (1.5 packs a day equivalent) vaping.

Hawaii! Yay haha
I consider the Joye 510 a must-have e-cig because when you're learning about vaping, practically all online tutorials, video or text-based, center around it. For most users, it's usually their second purchase after buying whatever e-cig they first saw. My first was the Blu, and within 3 or 4 days I ordered a 510 kit. Anyone who gets a 510 as their first purchase is a smart buyer! :)

Or a 901. Or a kr808D-1. I'm kind of with Skinny with having the impression that the new members section here over suggests the 510. It IS a good starter but it's not the only one.
I suggested it at first because of the PCC but there ARE definately other options that a newbie would be happy with.

Haha, I agree with you, mistinthewoods, now that you mention overstating the 510 :)

I think the initial curiousity and excitement of owning an e-cig is what makes most buyers (including me) buy just any old vaping kit they see in front of them, then research and end up buying a good VP as their second model.

Right now we only have 510s in the house, and I have yet to try anything else, so I have much to learn.

Happy vaping! :)

It's the snowball dynamic:

Noobs like me join ecf, read the overwhelming amount of advice for the 510, buy a 510, like it, steer newer (newbier?) newbes to the 510, and so on and on.

I've noticed that, so when a poster is considering the KR and 501, I always support both and say they can't go wrong with either.

But, if someone is asking about a second-tier product or specifically about the 501, I suggest the 501 because I personally like it, and I know the KR and other fans will also post their recos.

@ Scumpy- It's also worth bearing in mind that most 808 cartos being carried by (dare I say, all?) the suppliers on the forum come with soft plugs that are almost too easy to remove for refilling. There are about 10 different methods for refilling 808 cartos floating around the threads, but those aside, they can be refilled by simply removing the cap and dripping. Whatever you go with, enjoy the ride.
