I have found a curiosity with my vaping...it seems to me like I can take a 3-5 second pull off of my Protank or Trident (at the second smallest setting) into the mouth then inhale. This causes explosive coughing more often than not. Even at 6mg. But on the other hand, I can take a 5 second lung inhale off of my Trident wide open at 18mg and suffer no ill effects at all other than clearing my throat once every 6-10 draws. How does that make sense? I am tripling my nic and at least doubling my vapor intake, but my throat and lungs like it. But if I do it at 6mg, I about die off. Is there something in this formula that I'm missing, like air to vapor ratio, or is it just the throat hit killing my on a mouth to lung? Not complaining about the huge clouds, it just makes it very hard to stealth at work or not turn the living room into basically a caramel scented sauna...

all I know is how I vape. to me it is more like smoking a pipe than smoking a cigarette. I take a short draw and feel it on my throat then take a long vape and breath that in a short ways. I don't take a full lung draw at all. Most of the time I don't think much vapor is getting in my lungs. as far as the harshness of you liquids, did were they both made using the same nicotine base? if they were, it is a little unusual. If they weren't then it can be explained by the different characteristics of the nic base. older nic base can be more harsh than new nic base. nic base made from stems and leaf dust is more smooth than nic base made from tobacco leafs. since there is a higher demand for nic base these days it is harder to find the smooth stuff. hope this helps and good luck

as far as being labeled a senior member, its code and you shouldn't ask. grins

I'm guessing it's a matter of juice flow.
I'm using a rocket that seems to stop flowing well due to vaccuum. I blow into it to put pressure into the tank to get it flowing again.
When it's flowing good, It hits very smooth. As the flow slows down, it gets harsh but I can't tell much of a difference in the amount of vapor.

"senior member" is due to post count. 150, I think

Good airflow = a smooth vape. The density of the vape doesn't seem to affect it all that much strangely enough. Does that also tie in with the coil temperature perhaps? Perfect airflow to me = a crispy, but pronounced throathit that's not unlike an analog. That perfect throathit only occured to me on the kanger MT3 for some mysterious reason.

I usually take those more lengthy mouth drags, a few primer puffs while the coil heats up. I only lung-inhale when I want a quick fix of nicotine, it really hits it.

Thanks, all good replies. I figure it has to be an airflow issue. But I also wonder if there is a part of the throat that can be more sensitive to irritation that is being marginalized by the direct inhale? Either way, I'll take it. Makes the juice taste better anyways, I am actually enjoying Bobas again, lol.
