I've been browsing this forum for some time now, but just created an account today. The reason I decided to create an account was mainly because I just received my Bloog MaxxFusion in the mail today.
I've been a 1/2 to 3/4 pack a day smoker for about 14 years. I first heard about e-cigs a couple years ago when they were brand new over here in the states. NPR even had a technical correspondent that was talking about them because he saw them as CES (even though he was negative towards the whole idea and said things like "What's next? Electronic ......?").
Anyway, I've been really tired of smoking for the past few years and have been trying to quit. I sat many quit dates and never stuck to them (like the day my first child was born who is now 4 years old, etc etc). I have tried the gum, the patch, the lozenges, and Chantix. They were all pretty horrible except for Chantix, which only gives you bad nausea for about 30 minutes. Chantix is really expensive, though ($160 for a prescription and there is no generic). I was able to quit for about 2 weeks with the Chantix, but as soon as life happened I went straight to the gas station and bought a pack of Marl Blues.
So while I was at the mall a few weeks ago doing some Christmas shopping, there was a kiosk set up selling the SmokingEverywhere Smoke-51 kits. I tried it and really liked it. I liked that it felt like the real thing. I bought one of the kits for $130. I got one battery, a carrying case, a wall charger and a pack of 5 cartos. I bring home and I'm super excited about it. Once I had it home, the honeymoon period started going sour very quickly. The battery only lasted for around 2 hours and it took about 2-3 hours to charge. That meant that I was going back to the old faithful analogues whenever I was waiting for my battery to charge. Also, the cartos varied A LOT in vapor and flavor, even though they were all from the same pack. Next thing you know, the carto batteries started to overheat and burn the atomizers (or however that works). That totally ruined the whole experience. The vapor had a nasty burnt marshmallow flavor with a hint of burnt circuit board. It also hurt my throat. This happened with 3 of the cartos in the pack. Only one carto was "good" from start to finish (good flavor, good vapor).
Since I've been browsing this forum I've been reading a lot of reviews from people who really like the Bloog MaxxFusion. I also watched all the videos on Leoford's youtube page. Even though I just spent $130 on the Smoke-51 kit, I decided to order the Ultimate Starter kit from BloogPlanet. I've been using it for about 4 hours now. I also ordered two extra packs of cartos. After the 10% off coupon code I used, the total was $109.77.
For that I got two batteries, wall charger, usb charger, car charger, usb passthrough, charging case, regular case, velvet pouch, and 3 boxes of cartomizers!
The batteries were already charged out of the box and I immediately opened everything up and tried the different flavors of the cartos (Kamel, R4Y, and Menthol).
Let me just say WOW! The flavor is excellent! The vapor is great! It's lighter in weight than the Smoke-51, and the material they used feels really nice too. Also, it's much easier to "puff" than the Smoke-51. I've already let two friends try it and convinced my cousin it was good enough for her to order one since she's been trying to quit analogues, too. She ordered hers today.
I haven't tried all the order brands I've read about on here, and honestly all the jargon confuses someone new to vaping like myself. All I can say is I think I've found something good enough (or better) to replace analogues with. I wanted to post this because some people might be skeptical about placing an order on line for their first e-cigarette without ever having tried them before. I know I didn't buy anything until I was able to try it first hand at the mall kiosk. That experience let me know that e-cigarettes were a viable option for someone like me, even if the brand at the mall was overpriced and not very good.
The only thing I wish Bloog offered that it doesn't currently is the ability to have different carto and battery colors. I personally like the all black, sleek design of the one they sell now; but some people want their e-cig to look like a real one. My cousin was concerned that her kids might now be able to tell what the Bloog was and might mistake it as a 'gadget' and start playing with it. For me, I'd rather it look different because if my kids see me doing it, I want them to know it's different than an analogue.
That's all I have to say about that! Go Bloog MaxxFusion!
