Hi,

I've been using an iTaste MVP and Kanger protank for a while now and have had it with bottom coils. No BDC clearomizer suggestions either please. Removing/adding tiny bits of wick to get it to work right, and then it still starts gurgling later even on a full tank (no extra air), etc, plus I want much more vapor than I'm getting.

Someone suggested me this Phoenix Rebuildable Atomizer - V5 (Dripper) a coupel months ago, but I never bought it.
Your Online Electronic Cigarette Store

All/most of the quad coil videos I've seen, they only wrap each coil like 3 times. Wouldn't a dual coil with more wraps produce more vapor?

I just want a ton of vapor with no wicking problems and can hopefully vape 5ml with one or two batteries.

This is what I'm looking for: Either can be clones as long as they're quality and low price:

tank :
-Something that has at least one good rebuilding video on youtube that's easy to follow.
-Preferably the kind that doesn't need a screwdriver and uses finger twist bolts.
-Despite having to refill it often, I'll prefer a dripper if the other genny-type or whatevers pose wicking problems and need to be tipped.

MOD (box preferred):

If I can't use my MVP, I hope to use something VV instead of mechanical, even if it means building only dual coils and not quads. With all the dual coil clearos like the BDC, I don't see why it would be dangerous to use at least a dual on a VV.

Should I get really thick wire like 26G or 25G? I use 32G now and was going to get 28G for the protank but gave up on it. I want to make a lot of wraps and maybe try quad coils, so I'll need the final ohm really low.

If I can't use the MVP, I'll also need links to the correct batteries and charger for either a mechanical or VV MOD.

Infinite thanks.

I'm willing to bet your issue is with the Protank. I had issues with those, as well, and tried the HyperTank which was a night and day difference, even though they use the same coil. The Protank lets in too much air and is a major headache. The Hypertank is a far firmer draw and doesn't require all the fiddling and fussing that the Protank does. It also holds 5ml liquid and costs about half as much. It's just a far superior tank in the same class of tanks.

Someone pointed me to the Tatroe tank bottom cap which replaces the bottom cap of the Protank and eliminates the issue. I've got two on order so hopefully I'll be able to use my Protanks again.

Unless you're an absolute cloud freak, quad coils are really unnecessary, a properly configured (coil, wicking, airflow etc) dripper with single or dual coils depending on preference/RDA should be able to crank out enough vapor to choke the average vaper. :2c:

This. I have an IGO-W, with enlarged air holes, and primarily run it on a single coil. I get great vapor, and the flavor is unbelievable. I don't see why you couldn't run an RDA on an MVP. I think your limited to 1.3 ohms and above though, nothing lower. I stay at around 1.0 ohm on my mech, and I'm very happy with it.

I can't suggest a box mod, since they're not my style, but I would suggest that you might try a good bottom button tube mod like the Magneto. I don't have one personally (I own 3 Sigelei mechs), but I've heard a lot more good things about them, than bad. They seem like a good, solid, budget mech. I plan on picking one up soon.

Thanks for replies.

I'm going to avoid FT clones despite being like $5 shipped. FT might have genuines for a similar price, either igo-w / trident / nimbus, etc. I'll keep looking.

Clones either might have brass posts which I read might have lead, have black allen key screws instead of stainless phillips, the air holes are too high and won't give a good hit, don't have air flow adjustment or the "Spit Back Protection" like the genuine Nimbus, etc.

I carry wick and wire in a mini keychain pill bottle in case I pop a coil while out. I was hoping to get posts with thumb-adjustable screws, but I can cut the handle off a mini screwdriver and fit it in the pill jar.

In case I hate having to re-drip, If it's not a fussy as a bottom coil, what are good choices for a dual coil w/ a tank that isn't a bottom coil and doesn't use cartos and isn't a clearomizer? I searched "ml dual coil tank -bdc -smoktech -iclear16 -iclear -iclear30 -clearomizer -carto -cartomizer" etc and didn't find much so figured I'd ask. I'd be using silica/hemp.

Thanks again.

quality for a low price that would be the trident at fasttech more then ready to rip a dual or quad with adjustable airflow.
dual coil tank would be the ithaka

and i agree with the other posters it is not necessary to run low ohms to blast out clouds unless trying to make pinoy style videos for youtube,

Hi Vaganvap. I remember you from a while back. Nice to see you got things figured out and are still vaping.

I also recommend the Trident and whatever mod you chose to put it on. I use a K100 and it's great. There's a very informative thread about battery safety and mech mods here.

Best of luck with it :thumb:

thanks for replies.
The Ithica looks like a protank to me, and not even dual coil and possibly glued. I'll worry about a non-drip tank later.

What size ribbon A-1 kanthal (suposidly all that bakero wire was re-named as) do you recommend?
Approx how many wraps on each coil for a dual coil? I need to stay above 1.3 ohms on my VV mod which might take a while to heat up, bu that's what I get for using a VV. I might prefer a longer wait with more wraps for more surface are, so maybe suggest something larger with lower resistance.

I made this thread to hopefully conclude on which posts materials to avoid before choosing an RDA:
