Conclusion:
Install an O-ring on the coil, resting in the two slots.

Scope:
Just bought an innokin T20-S recently. Mine was leaking liquid (50/50) out of the tank through the air intakes. Like many other buyers have already experienced (and not because of wrong installation of the coil) the device is leaking heavily trough the air intake holes. As a mechanical engineer, I have been experimenting and found a solution to the problem that I want to share.

Why is it leaking?:
It leakes because of gravity forcing the fluid to pass through the cotton, down the coil and out of the air intake holes.

Solution:
Install an O-ring on the coil (0.8W), resting in between the two slots. I've used an NBR 70 1.6 x 10 mm O-ring. With this size O-ring there is still room for air to be sucked past the coil, but the capillary forces will prevent the liquid to pass. The restriction has actually been a benefit for myself, because it gives a bit tighter draw, it's really good actually. You can try out different sizes O-rings, but this one worked out really well. That is what that has to be given.

Regards,

Brian

That's odd... mine never leaked (you have to make sure the coil "flat" parts lin up just right and also make sure the coil seats in all the way) My issue was not enough airflow! I'm odd... I like very loose MTL draw. I had to drill out the holes a bit.

Yes, it is seated properly as I already wrote ;)

Even if it was seated a bit off the tank, no fluid should be able to flow past in the vapes upright position, because there's an O-ring between coil and the tank. Not the small white one on the coil, but the black one in a reces of the tank. Iv'e tested this to be true and I can see that fluid leaks through the coil and not on the perimeter of it.
