So I assume you have seen my thoughts and hands on experience with the iClear X.1 so let's take a look at the other tanks I received.

-First Protank 3

First impressions is its solid built, looks nice, base is nicer to unscrew/screw on/off tank compared to the Aerotank. Solid and nice looking.

Next the issues I expressed with the iClear X.1 base not screwing on/off as smoothly and the metal looks and feels a little cheaper on the iClear X.1. I'm not saying the iClear X.1 is not nice or solid built but it's something you'll only know when holding it in hand. But both are pretty tanks. The Protank 3 looks to easy to rebuild and no worries.

Flavor and performance is about even. Flavor is better than the iClear X.1 but not as smooth. Don't get me wrong it's smooth smooth but the iClear X.1 is just a little smoother. I really like.

-Protank 2

First impressions same as Protank 3, basically the same in every way.

Next easy to rebuild and it's a single coil. Simplicity.

Flavor and performance well that's a tough one. But coils that came with the Protank 2 are tasting burnt as heck once I reach 9.0 watts so I'm about to rebuild both coils it came with. I'll let you know more after I get the new coils going.

-Aerotank

Well I thought the Aerotank was boring on the VTR but it might be one of three best tanks I've tried so far.

-iClear 3 well my opinion it's BS, money pit due to the carto like tanks which cannot be rebuilt. Plastic, cheap and subpar. Not for me.

Well I'm off to build some single coils for the Protank 2. BS, blah but oh well.

Thanks

So late last night I disassembled the Protank 2 and washed it really good with mild soapy water and let it air dry. I put the tank back together later and tried it out and now it's doing great. So it must have just been oil or something from production in the factory. I noticed I had a slight funny taste on the iTaste X.1 as well and I fully washed the tank as well and now it appears to be doing great as well. So overall I would say the tanks are doing great. So with all the tanks I have I have ordered them in order to which I like best.

1. Kanger Aerotank
2. Kanger Protank 2
3. Innokin iClear X.1
4. Kanger Protank 3
5. Innokin iClear 30s

I own the Kanger Protank 2 Mini and Kanger Evod's as well. If I were to place them in the list the Kanger Protank 2 Mini would be 3rd and Kanger Evod would be in 5th - so every other tank would just slide down in place. But the above are tanks that fit without the extension and this being the reason I left the two small tanks off the above list order.

BTW I will still say it and nothing will change my mind but the iClear 30s is the biggest garbage ever. Honestly it was Innokin's way to make sure you could not rebuild it and it was all about money money money to them.

Thanks

I love my XI. I now have the following to compare it to (I bought it somewhere in the middle):

Top Coil Vivi Nova, Kanger T3s, EVOD, Protank II Mini, Protank Aerotank, Russian 91% with stock coil (it blew the first one, but I'm still using a spare, haven't bothered to make some twisted wire yet but it's doing fine).

The airflow is similar to the small eGo tanks, quite restricted and not adjustable. Flavor is amazing. The biggest thing is that I find it very hard to foul up a tank of juice, which is good because it's superficially difficult to dry-burn the coils and they cost $2.50 and are harder to rebuild than Kanger, but I haven't made a good effort to pop the assembly apart yet.

I have a ProVari but the airflow isn't super great, with those tiny holes just sitting on top of the nearly-flush ProVari. They're not so much blocked as they are tiny straws pointed into the greater world outside of the device, but with a regular amount of leaking juice pooling around and mucking with your big drags. I know I said I loved it, and I still do, and I've learned to accept the downsides of all of my devices...

It actually does better on an eGo battery with a collar piece, especially if you can line up the holes perfectly between the collar and tank. This forms a nice vacuum with nice sized holes so it seems to breathe better.

Biggest cons would be the airflow, it leaks / condenses vapor from the unsealed battery connector (so with a ProVari it's constantly trickling a tiny amount into the juice reservoir area) and requires ongoing cleanup (and this is with 90% VG), it leaks when on its side easily (lost 1ml today on accident on a lunch napkin) and the coils are relatively expensive and difficult to rebuild. On the pro side, it was very plug and play and no-fuss, and I ran maybe 30ml of juice through it (!) before cleaning because it just seemed to taste great and never fouls the juice.

Edit: I've had a good month on a single coil assembly so far, and it came with two extra. A con I almost forgot is that the center pin moves around quite a bit -- this could be a pro, but it's like fiddling with your eGo charger sometimes, you gotta get in there and pull that center pin out every so often.

Biggest pro compared to ProTank: its coil seems to hold up better and longer, I had my Aerotank on a trip with me and somehow managed to totally ruin a tank of juice and get a horrid burning taste and couldn't quite get it to clear up until I returned (I used Fling Minis in the meantime :), but it's because I was expecting the same longevity and had an easy backup and not a lot of good accessories to clean up the Aerotank (alcohol, Q-tips, etc -- the flow tube inside was foul tasting too).

I like the x.1 probably more than most of the clearos i have tried without afc. But i bought it under the impression that it could be rebuilt. I had read on these threads that the coils were like the 30B and while difficult to rebuild, not impossible. Unfortunately the parts of the coils that came with mine seem to be welded together and not press fit. Huge disappointment.

Although Innokin stock coils in general are better than other companies', they are still not as good (nor as cheap), as the ones you rebuild yourself !

Today I have my Xi disassembled and drying and am using my Aerotank heavily. I need to do a same-juice comparison but the Aerotank really whoops .... on the Xi when it comes to airflow, vapor production, and not leaking ever so far in my experience (sealed connector but never leaks sideways either) . Vapor Beast was selling some for $16 with free shipping and I had to get one last night (a spare) , though I'm starting to throw myself into rebuildables. I'll always have room in my set for convenient reliable stuff. Probably will explore using an Aero base on a PT2 also.

The Aerotank keeps up with my stock new Russian 91% coil but that coil is just something to have out of the box, and I've got a few spools coming...
