Innokin itaste vv v3 problems

I've had my itaste for probably 3 months now I guess, and I love it. Well... I lovED it. I think its developing some problems and I'm looking for tips to fix it possibly since I simply don't have the money to buy another one or upgrade (I'd love a VAMO) at the moment.

This APV has a 10 second timer, right? Where if you hold the button for 10 seconds or longer it flashes 10 times and won't vape again until the flash has stopped. Well, a couple of weeks ago my device started doing this randomly. Sometimes on 5 second burns and sometimes just as soon as I hit the button, it will give me the flash and pause as if I had held the button down for too long.

Sometimes it works fine with no issues, other times its a real pain. The bottom piece where it plugs in came out once, which I quickly remedied with a very small amount of putty (as I didn't want to glue it shut in case I needed in there at some point the future). I'm wondering if it doesn't have a short somewhere.

I really just don't know what is exactly wrong with it and I don't want to go digging around because I don't want to damage it further... like I did with my last APV (Vision Spinner) that came apart and broke a wire. I understand enough about electronics to know how they need to go back together, but I don't really have the tools or patience to get them repaired.

Any help is appreciated.

Also, if a kind mod wouldn't mind moving this to a more appropriate forum for veteran help, I'd appreciate it.

It is possible that when the end came off, a wire came loose, but let's look at a couple of other things.

Even though it's cold as Hades, what is the temperature when this happens? Does it get warm?

What resistance are you using with it? Have you checked resistance when this happens? Have you tried other atomizers with it to get same result?

If popus doesn't come in here, I recommend messaging popus.

I would trust the ohmmeter over what kanger says they are. They've been having quality control issues..

Have you tried something other than the protank?

lol... actually I haven't tried until just now. My MT3 doesn't have as much of an issue. Plus the vapor is better. I had to do some digging to find it because I thought the Protank was so cool when I got it that I basically discarded the other.

Man... this sucks. I like the look of the protank, but its vapor production is just subpar and it gives me that flashing issue for some reason. Maybe it pushes the pin down too far? I have to pry the pin up to get it to even make contact with the MT3.

Another thing to check is if the coil has been pushed around by the flavor wick. One thing I noticed on the Kanger coils is that if you are popping the cap on them to flush them out or clean them. Sometimes when you lay the flavor wick back on, and pop the cap on - it can push the coil around and make it short off the side of the atomizer body. My VV3 started doing what yours did. Then displaying weird patterns on the display that looked like dashes and shapes similar to the armband bomb from the first predator movie.

I pulled the coil and sure enough it was lop sided and possibly touching the cup. I also got a weird read on the resistance as well. It was high, then creeped down when I fired it. When I went in with a pin and straightened out the coil and moved it away from the cup it was fine. (This was in a Kanger T3 not a protank) But it's the same coil.

It may also be the wall plug you are using to charge it. I had a day where it would just keep flashing and reverting back to voltage mode after using a charger I had never used before. I haven't used that charger since, and never had that problem again.

(Things to consider that aren't the 510 connection, which may very well be the problem if it isn't something that pulled loose when the tail cap came out.)

I feel you; I have a VV V3, love it but its a damn expensive battery ...

Its sounds like a short. the first thing I would check is inside the 510 - try to pull the in up (paper clip, bend as small of an edge as possible with a pliers, then go around the pin and pull gently). its possible that the rubber separating the positive (pin) and the negative (threading) is damaged or something went in there.

Also - Does it charge properly ? (charges, green, light goes off, check shows 4.2V)
