Innokin Lea Pen Cap/Cover question

Hey guys,

The awesome guys at e-liquid Planet hooked me up with a great Innokin Lea battery.

So far, I absolutely love it. It seems to "kick" a little harder than my Riva batteries too.

Here's my question though:

I'm using the device with a LR 510 atty and a drip tip, which seem to somewhat measure up the same length or so to the standard Lea atty and tank.

I did not get a pen cap with the battery, so I ordered one online.

Will the cap still snap into place and lock even without the standard atomizer? I'd like to keep my atomizer and drip tip covered, but I don't want the cap falling off when I pull it out of my pocket.

No, it won't I'm afraid. The cap latches on to the tip of the stock Lea cartridge.

The cartridge or the atomizer?

I do have a cartridge, but not a stock atomizer.

never tried it that way. But... I have mine right here, let's find out together

...nope, didn't work for me. It looks like the Innokin atomizer is slightly taller than a stock 510. Also I'm not sure how to make that cartridge work with anything other than the Innokin atty.

I've been able to make the cartridge work by stuffing some polyfill into the bottom and making a tank sort of thing, works with the standard 510 atty.

Without the lea atomizer, does the cap sit firmly on the battery at all, or is it loose and slips right out?

The cap is completely loose and will just fall right off. With the stock atty/tank the thing stays on very well and requires a bit of force to remove.

You know how on top of the battery there's some extra extra protruding metal that I assume the cover goes over? In theory, it would stay if we were to glue a rubber O-ring sort of thing onto there, provided it's thin enough for the cover to slip over.

The cap rests flush against the lip right above the button. An O-ring would be too thick I think, but you could potentially use something to build up some thickness around the area where the cap slides to get it to stay perhaps.

I just ordered the cover and I'm kind of mad it won't stay on lol, I refuse to use a tank system, but i love this battery!

I do too, I don't really use the tank on it when I use that one. But yes perhaps some electrical tape might be a low cost solution Whever I have stuff with caps I never use the caps most of the time because I'm chain vaping anyway.

Heh same here, but my job requires me to travel (and walk) most of the day. I normally just get a chance every 30-60 mins to drip a few and vape away, but I definitely want to keep it covered.

I guess some tape would work, I'm guessing it would shred over time though. I wish it clipped onto the battery instead of the stock atomizer, or if Innokin would release a standard and LR atomizer compatible with it (with no tank of course!).

I'm really not sure what to do at this point, or what other materials to try and make it hold.

There's gotta be something out there somewhere :/

I was able to get the cover to fit by doing the following:

Taking a thinner electrical tape and taping it on only HALF of the metal piece over the button, then trimming off the excess until it was flush with the atomizer base.

The tape would only cover half of the battery it's stuck to, but it doesn't look too bad with a matte black battery.

The cover stays on snug and comes on/off easy, and I've had no breaking/ripping issues as yet either.

Success for now, until a better idea comes up.

Anything in mind?

I honestly can't think of anything else, especially since black tape matches the color and is pretty easy to work with.
