9 weeks ciggie free now thanks to vaping:)

Started with standard batt and t3s
switched to vision spinner with vtox
enjoyed it but needed more hit and vapour

had the mvp2 for 2 days now but a little confused with ohms, volts and power
i was expecting a lot of vapour and hit from this but as of yet can't quite find it

Using hangsen baccy flavour 24mg
not sure of vg/pg ratio

any help on this my fellow vaping demons:evil:

The ohms reading is simply telling you the resistance (in Ohms) of whatever is attached.

Volts is the amount of battery charge. 4.2 is fully charged. 3.6 is getting low.

Power is the one to be concerned with because that is how much power (watts) is being sent to the head.

For example, if you currently have your power set to 7 and feel the flavor is weak, set it up .5 at a time until you get what you like. If you go too high, it will start tasting dry or burnt.

Do some reading on ohms, volts, and watts, and you will probably get a better explanation than this.

Welcome to the forum.

Don't be confused with ohm's law. If you use different resistances for atomizers, keep it on vw, or P..for power. Start at the lowest and work your way up. If you use the same resistance atomizers, use either vv or vw. Just start from the lowest setting and work your way up.

I'll get a little technical, so you can read through to understand.

Ohms are the measurement of Resistance in an electrical circuit. Resistance is just that. Resistance against energy pushing the charge from electrons.

This charge from electrons is current, and its measurement is in Amps. A lower resistance allows a larger charge to flow.

The Energy pushing the current is voltage, measured in Volts.

The measurement of Power is all three of these, and is measured in Watts. It is generally refered to as heat with vaping or heating applications.

Your atomizer will be the resistance, and you are manipulating the voltage with variable voltage or power/watts. The only difference between them is that when using variable wattage, your voltage is adjusted automatically based on the resistance. More than likely, it uses the formula Energy=square root of (Power×Resistance).

Won't let me edit post... one thing I forgot. Click both the V and P buttons, and it will display your resistance, and then it will display your battery's capacity. 4.2 volts fully charged, 3.2 volts dead.

Hold the P button, and it will display the puff counter. If you keep holding it, it will go into the watt adjustment.

Hold the V button, and it will display the puff counter. If you keep holding it, it will go into the voltage adjustment.

You're adjusting one or the other. The last setting you altered will be the setting used, so going in the order I just listed, you will be in voltage mode.

Thks all
Read up a little more starting to understand it now I think lol
I've an I clear30 on the mvp2 2.1 ohms coil I understand from hangsen site there blends are 70/30 mix
I dropped power to 6.5 and upped watts to 4.0 this seems to have stopped the burning taste and my liquid turning darker
Just need to tweak it now for a really good hit

Any suppliers in uk do a 50/50 virginia mix??

just got my new mvp 2 a couple days ago. I'm a first timer too. I am amazed at this thing. Gotta play around with the settngs. I found my all day eliq is good at 4.5 volts, but way too hot for my peppermint playwithit stuff. So I just turn it down and same with the coconut flavor. Lots of "range" on these things. Sorta like goin from a coleman camp stove to a wolf commercial range....!

Lots of good info already in this thread, the thing to remember is that vaping is a personal preference type of experience, what works for some will not work for all. The key is to experiment and find what works for you. Every juice can be a little different and need a little tweaking to meet your tastes, this is normal. Once you find your "average" or "normal" setting, it will be a good place to start with any juice and then tweak from there.

HTH ... Oh, and welcome to ECF!

Yah i have found that a lot of the fruit flavors run better (4me) at lower volts.

@Snakebutt - Ha! Love your "location". I earned my stripes at south pier PB growing up.. lots of good memories there. Actually smoked my first cig (errr, it was a clove actually) at Law Street and fell out of my friends minivan I a had such a buzz going from it.

@Piney66 and everyone else - I came across this chart that lists the calculations for resistance/volts/watts. It's pretty handy if you don't want to do the math:
Vaping Power Chart 2.0 - Imgur

The numbers in the colored boxes are the watt settings you'll want to use for different resistances (in case that isn't obvious). I've been using an MVP2 for a few days now and using the watt settings shown in the green boxes as the chart recommends has worked well for me. I haven't messed with the volts at all because adjusting the power/watts does it automatically as mentioned before.

The MVP (or any other adj voltage/wattage) stick is just handy. I am finding that some juices work plenty well at 3.3v & some others take more heat. I just make it as hot as I can go without burning taste. I also have found that just a little more air gives my mouth/neck/throat that famous "nico" coating/taste that I would get with regualr cigs if/when I smoked a lot/too much, like when you were someplace you can't smoke, then when you can, you smoke 2 or 3, which overdoses you with nic a little, but it wears off quick enough...I have noticed that when/if I DO, do that it's quite a little while before I "need" another puff. PLUS.... no mess, no ashtrays, lighters or having to "roll" my own anymore! AnnnnnnD??? I'm breathing way better!
