I have the SVD also and find that sometimes I experience the same thing. Everything works fine except it won't change the voltage or wattage. I end up getting it to "unlock" by repeatedly going thru the unlock sequence: hold + and - for 5 seconds. Sometimes when I'm doing the unlock sequence the current setting shows on the screen and then it magically lets me change the setting right then(without holding fire & +).

I love the SVD but its kinda wonky sometimes trying to set it up. It always fires reliably though.

I've experienced that when I've had a coil suddenly break (causing an open circuit, triggering the SVD's safety features). Resetting the device has worked for me in those cases. Take out the battery, press and hold the fire button for 5-10 seconds.

+1

I used to get the same thing switching from 1 18650 to 2 18350's, and that solved it. Seems like I missed that part when perusing the owner's manual. :?:
