Innokin VTR + CNC Mill = Kayfun

After having my VTR for all of a few days, I realized the clearos weren't going to cut. I've seen some pictures of the ring removal using a Dremel, but I wanted something cleaner. I first wrapped the VTR in painters tape so it wouldn't scratch and then locked it up in my CNC Mill. These are pics of the result. My VTR had the spinning wheel, so my next mod is to figure out how to fix the wheel so it doesn't spin anymore.

From what I can tell, the 510 connector is pressed into the case. I'm on the hunt for a broken VTR to tear into to confirm this.

Been thinking about doing that myself. What size mill did you use? Metric or standard. Might try just drilling a 1/8" hole through the wheel and putting in a spring pin to keep it from spinning.

I'm a bit confused. I've seen several VTR's and none of them had the spinning ring I hear so much about.

You must be seeing all of the latest generation VTRs... the connector is now solid on the newer ones.

A friend somehow managed to damage the threads on his VTR. Anyone know of a fix?

If the rumors that it's press fit are true (and from what I can tell... they are)... there may be no other alternative but to contact Innokin.
