Innokin VTR - My Two Cents After a Month

Yes, it is heavy. So begins any mention of the Innokin VTR. With an 18650 3400 mAH battery and 3 mL of juice in the stock iClear 30s, it weighs in at 13.5 oz (~380g). It seems as if they're using depleted uranium for these and I'd prefer something lighter but I wanted something with more watts and battery life than my MVP without breaking the bank ($70 sans battery) on the pricier box mods.. I chose the camo over the stainless so as not to attract as much unwanted attention and it has a nice textured surface that is grippy enough for me. The device is super sturdy and performs well across the range but the real surprise for me was how well the iClear30s works. When I received my MVP, I tried out the iClear30 and didn't like the draw or feed characteristics. I've always preferred the Kanger Pro II series toppers. The iClear30s is a vast improvement over the iClear30 as they've put all of that spaghetti wick inside a perforated metal cylinder. On first fire after the unit is at rest for more than an hour or so, it takes one long "pre-draw" before the vapor begins to flow but then it really flows strong and consistently. I am trying to inhale less (I don't think that vapor is good for my lungs) so I'm targeting a thicker vapor and using Clay's Naturally Extracted Tobaccos (Big Spirit is a current fave but they're all a cut above every other producer) as they are very satisfying for mouth-only or retrohale use. I know that you can get bigger plumes with a mech dripper but I only use these as novelties at my work bench (just learned to wire weld nickel to kanthanal) since they require too much fiddling to be practical IMHO.

This device is now my go-to for living room vaping and I'll likely use it for camping as well due to its durability and long battery life. The VTR is a very well made product, even by Innokin's high standards and, along with great controls and ergonomics, a product that I recommend to anyone that can live with the weight.

Anything but air is not preferred, lung-wise. When I still smoked, I was concerned about inhaling cigarettes but I still did it. While I'm pretty sure that vaping is a whole lot better than smoking, it doesn't make it harmless. I'm exploring ways to still enjoy the vaping habit while inhaling less often.

Were you a smoker? Why are you vaping if you are concerned about inhaling the vapor?
