Input on RBA's? Cloudchasing?

So i have an ego style battery and a smok tank right now as my vape set up. Ive been vaping for about 3 ish months now and i love it. I started vaping as a substitute for hookah, so quitting smoking was never an issue. Needless to say, vaping has become a regular hobby for me. I like the set up I have, but Im looking for as much vapor as possible. I was looking at this THE ULTIMATE #CLOUDCHASING K101 Mechanical Mod Package + UPGRADE OPTIONS | VAPEHAPPYVAPEHAPPY to start off. It has everything i need to start "cloud chasing". But i do have a few questions. It already comes with a custom rebuildable atomizer. 1st- how much liquid will the rba wicks hold? And how long will the wicks last before i need to put a new build on? What builds do you recommend i use? Im basically a newb, so i could use as much info as possible. Thanks in advance!

I would advise you not to go straight into sub ohm. You need to get a good handle of rebuilding and amp limits before you go into it. What kind of set up do you have now? If you don't have something that will read ohms, you will need a multimeter, ohm reader, or mod that reads resistance.

Second, I think the Reo is the best mod ever. If you are content to just buy a Chinese metal battery holder, then feel free. I blow awesome clouds with a Reo and Reomizer without even trying. You can definitely get the K100 up to snuff, but it will take some work.

First off, here's some good reading you should check out and get acquainted with:

Information Resources for your first RBA
Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries Part 1
Deeper Understanding of Mod Batteries Part 2
Battery Basics For Mods - IMR or Protected?

Understand that Sub-ohm coils are dangerous. But that's a sweet package you posted. Sony 30A 18650s will do very nicely for this purpose.

1st- how much liquid will the rba wicks hold?

Different for every RBA/RDA, also depends how much wicking you have. You obviously don't want to flood the coil, so there's a balance that needs to be met as far as saturation/ability to wick. Most RDAs I would say hold around 5-12 drops comfortably. This is usually enough to chain-vape 5-6 times before you need to drip again. Of course depending on the RDA it could be more or less.

Also, can I put a custom drip tip on the rebuildable atomizer? Not a big deal, just wondering

Yes, definitely. Nimbus clone clearly has a removable drip tip. Not all will fit perfect though, so there are some exclusions.

Check out: Rebuildable Atomizer Systems

Do you homework, watch tutorial videos, get a feel for the whole thing and then give it a shot. Or you could definitely buy that kit and use the pre-installed coil it comes with (SOAKER build?). I would also consider the Nitecore Intelligcharger whether you upgrade or not, you can get them on Amazon between $15-20 and they are a fantastic safe charger.

Vape well, vape often :vapor:

Once I finally got your link to load, I was able to see this setup. It appears to be a good setup. Not personally familiar with the mechanical mod or the RBA itself. The batteries are good for what you will be using them for: high-drain hybrid batteries with a sub-ohm friendly 30 amp limit. I highly recommend you upgrade the charger to the Nitecore i2 and a second Sony battery option for $20.

I'll echo the previous suggestions to forego any sub-ohm coil builds until you have satisfactory experience with standard resistance coils, even if you are using the appropriate batteries for them. You will need a way to measure your coil's resistance, so you will need a digital multimeter to measure them. Never "guess" at what the resistance is by the number of wraps of your coils. Always measure them before firing the coil. Be sure to read and understand the info in the links that Enoch provided you above.

And please understand you do not have to do sub-ohm coils to make clouds.

Cloudchasing is Dangerous

Well, since you think Hookah is not smoking, we should be able to convince you to use about anything.

Let's see....
(rummages around for B.S. Junk)

Oh, OK.
RBA's are for dripping. RBT's are tanks with rebuildable coils, etc. It's really about watts dumped into the coil per second, and juice wicking.

But it's hard to describe unless you get some experience. "Clouds" are not really descriptive...do you want flavor too? Nic hit? Hookah flavor?

No e-cig is going to be like smoking. Even though hookah is smoother than cigs...e-cigs and hookah pens are still not the same. No products of combustion and the flavor is different. So is the nic absorption. And it's not molasses that gets vaporized.

So you need to follow the links above. Understand ohm's law. Understand the capabilities of the battery.
The kit is "OK". I wouldn't bundle that charger with it...I'd bundle a dual charger even if I had to charge more. You may wish to purchase things separately and look at reviews.

EDIT: I'm too late. lol. Carry on....

Well, varies a lot depending on:
1) What wicking you use
2) If you can just "swap out" the wick....like many do with cotton
3) The juice you use...eg how fast it gunks up
4) Your cleaning routine
5) If you popped the coil, or just need to clean it...and if you dry burn it.
6) The gauge of wire.

so....who knows? Seriously, when you get to custom builds....they can last months and months or some people go bozo and fry the coil. If they use heavy guage wire like most cloud chasers...it still depends on watts...the more watts per coil, the redder/hotter it gets the more likely it is to pop. But 28 ga wire lasts for a loooong time if you take care of it.

I don't know for sure but I'll bet people end up rebuilding more out of curiosity/practice than they do for coil pops. Or just gunk/burnt taste on the wicks. The silica and mesh don't burn so people dry burn on that all the time. Cotton gets swapped.

I've been running my current 30 ga wire build for at least 3 weeks on silica. It's not even sub-ohm. I'm only about 14 watts or so over quite an area of wick.

Does anybody know how long it would take before I would have to rebuild that custom build? Because I was thinking of maybe trying the build out, but not rebuilding anything myself for safety reasons, and maybe just using a clearo tank on the mod itself as my main use.

If you are not willing to learn how to build I wouldn't recommend going mechanical and cloud chasing, stick with an Aspire BDV atomizer. Learning how to build is where it's at and I don't trust others to do my builds, nor should you. How would you know what the ohms were and if it was good if not built and tested by your own hands. Not something to mess with unless willing to learn.
