"Cloud Chasing" is a "gimmick" term used to sell product. Nitecore is a good charger. Samsung 25R is a safe battery. K101 someone else will have to weight in on that. As far as I know it's just a battery holder that many members buy because they get it in an inexpensive kit. I am not up to speed on the "voltage drop" of all the various mechanicals.

Are you just looking for more vapor or are you seriously looking to get into "cloud chasing" competitions?

actually i just want big clouds for fun. i have my normal vaporizer which i use daily basic and i quit smoking but i really want one for do big clouds but not that expensive. Thanks susan

What you put on your battery has a lot to do with the amount of vapor you will be getting (as well as the % of VG in your juice)

Is this enough clouds for you? What topper/tank/dripper are you going to put on your battery?

This is Matt (from Suck My Mod) vaping a mini Nautilus on an rDNA (a 30 watt devise). However he is only vaping at 18 watts (the iStick goes up to 20 watts). Any higher, he gets dry hits/burnt taste.

USA. State: Inebriated.
Get an Aspire Atlantis and the CF Sub-Ohm Battery.

Might be a little more expensive than what you're looking at, but it's safe, no fuss, and will produce the clouds you're looking for.

Alternatively, learn all the ins and outs of battery safety/proper mech mod usage if you're gonna go down the "cloud chasing" route. If you aren't doing it safely, you're doing it wrong, and if you have to ask, "Is this safe?" -- don't do it.

Here's a review on this (with lots of clouds): A PBusardo Review - The Aspire Atlantis & CF Sub Battery

I've actually been considering going this route for my daily driver... I haven't really heard anything about flavor retention, but it's got to be better than trying to use the dripper while driving.

I am not saying I drip and drive, but I do drip before driving...

The biggest issue I see with the setup you listed is the battery. The Samsung 25r is a great battery for regulated devices. But it is wimpy in my mech. The sony I have hits hard but the samsung takes a few seconds to get going and never reaches the same density.

Can't really speak on the k101 as I haven't really checked it out much.

Your 'normal vaporizer' (you didn't specify what exactly it is) would have some electronics that keep things under control;
it has safety factors built in.

A mechanical mod has no safety factors; it will let you put a low load on the battery if you want to even if that means the battery goes ballistic.

well i just a basic vaporizer that i cant mod. well edyle to be honest i dont want nothing crazy expensive, its more like big clouds for fun.

I think something like an istick and a nautilus will make you happy.
The k100/101 are just pretty simple cheap mods; worth having one as a backup;

Pros:
- it's got eGo as well as standard 510 thread;
- it's telescopic, so you could use 18650 or 18350 or 18350+kick;
- it's got a lock ring

Cons:
- It's not got floating/adjustable center pin.
- can't accomodate 18650+kick

More popular mech mods nowadays include:
nemesis
stingray
chiyou
king

You can get steel versions of these.
None of those are telescopic: just simple tubes that screw on together; not much can go wrong - except maybe the fire button when people change them out for magnet buttons I think;
And all of them have adjustable centerpin.
They all are 510-only threaded (except some versions of the chiyou clones I've seen)
And I'm pretty sure they all can accomodate a kick with a regular sized 18650 battery - you just have to have enough/theright sized tubes/parts.

The k101 kit just ought to be an economical buy; I'm guessing you're seeing it for $40 or $50.

but with isticks selling at $35, and maybe picking up a nautilus mini for 20 to 30; no charger or separate battery required....

If $economics$ is the main driver, check out fasttech prices
