You're kidding but there is a use for everything, if one is creative enough..

100 years ago or so I worked in an automotive machine shop. Part of that job was re-surfacing drums and rotors, naturally. One day this older gentleman walked into the shop and asked if he could take some of the cast filings out of the bin. I gave him an odd look and said; "Sure". He proceeded to fill up a handful of coffee cans that he came with.

Curiosity got the better of me and I finally had to ask the obvious question --

"Sir, what is it exactly that you're going to do with inexpensive cast iron filings that normally I toss in the garbage?"

"Well, if you must know -- I grow tulips with them"

"You do what now?"

"Tulips. I grow tulips with the filings"

"Tulips need raw iron?"

(at this point he sighed, realizing he had to give me [a snot-nosed punk of a kid who wasn't accepting his evasiveness] a better answer)

"See, when I plant my bulbs I toss some filings down into the hole. The filings start to rust immediately and that beautiful rust color makes it way into the flowering petals"

A month or two later he came back with examples of some of the flowers he grew. That rust color just haphazardly streaked through the petals of the flowers. They were truly stunning.

So, what color does aluminum turn when it rusts? LOL

wow I didn't know that they would do that. I wonder how many other plants or flowers could do that as well. Im going to have to investigate this... nice story man.

Transparent.

Part of the luster of aluminum is the result of there being a transparent layer over Aluminum oxide over the pure metal. This fact led to the strange science legend in Star Trek and Star Trek the Next Generation where it was asserted that the ports on the ship were made of "transparent aluminum." They even went so far as to make a transparent aluminum tank in one of the movies.

Interestingly enough, some years ago, a German firm actually caused a minor sensation when they created a hard tile of an Aluminum compound (Aluminum Oxynitride or AlON) that was transparent enough to read through. Internet news stories assert that it is undergoing trials by the military because it is half the weight of similar thicknesses of glass and twice as projectile resistant.

Thank you for this minor chance to geek-out.

Hello David, It looks like a Lee 1000 reloading press next two the buffing wheel, I have reloaded 1000's of rounds on a Lee. I have 4 of them set up because I do not like changing Die's also have one single stage for reloading My 454 Casull and other big boomers.

Both me and my dad were into shooting. He sadly passed away last year. Nothing like blowing off a little steam by putting some lead down range:)

Sorry About You Dad and Shooting Partner. My Father is still alive but never would go to the range.
I would shoot Trap every Sunday with a man I worked with He had two son's that were older than Me.
But they did not like to shoot. We went out one morning it was so cooled that No body would pull for US it was -17 F We did get some crazy kid to pull and had the range all to our self's.

His name was Don also He past in 2000.

Dave,
Our EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Director passed by my desk while I was looking at your picture of the buffer, and she ran out of the office screaming. :D
The hairs on the back of my neck stood up a little, too.
Have you got all your fingers? Workman's Comp.?
J/K. It's refreshing to see conventional (manual) machinery still in use.

Let's take a poll on how many of us would like to see an adapter for the Mega Type B atty.
This was my question that I sent out to the makers and vendors of some of the TOP PV mod:

For the life of me can't figure out WHY someone would use the tiny 510 cart or drip with your wonderful custom built PV. If you are using a long lasting battery, wouldn't you want a longer lasting juice reserve like the Mega att/cart combo? Most custom PV's can't take the Mega's because of there recessed thread design. There is an extension adapter such as the eGo battery adapter that DOES fit and will work. However it should be cut shorter (for aesthetics).
My question is, can an adapter be made to accept the type B Mega atty? And why not promote the fact that it can handle the Mega. I would think there are many who would love this concept.

Best Regards,
Dave

I did get answers back. Most have said that they don't have time to consider it.

Not that David has anything to do or such :)huh:) but I'd still be down for a Super T adapter for the Ego Mega B adapter. As it is I feel like a new daddy with my P-18.

After reading and looking at the pix on this thread though, I don't see how he has time to sleep with the demand for his current products and the attention he gives to each piece.

Hey wait, you guys are vapers and shooters?

I'm so impressed with that that I just ordered a p10 today. I work for a Belgian company that makes precision gearing. All hardened and ground, 62 Rockwell C stuff so I've been around machinery all my life. Looking forward to getting my p10.

I shoot a 1911 fully dresses in Wilson combat stuff and also shoot a 1943 colt officers heavy barrel match in .38 special. I mostly load .38 s myself
Glad I found you'se guys, glad I started vaping a month ago, glad I quit and glad I bought one of these machines.

I also lost my father last year. It's just a part of life. Our loved ones go on to prepare the road for us.

God Bless
