Hello! First post!

I've been browsing through the forum and have come to realize that one of my longtime hobbies has a very strong cross reference to the world of e-cigs.

The batteries!

I have enough various li-ion cells to choke a cow.... now I just need to find an e-cig that can utilize some of them. Seems like most the production models that are reasonably priced are based on some really really tiny cells. I'd like to stick to something no smaller than a 14500 LiMn chemistry cell. I don't think I would want to go any smaller than a 17670 size for LiCo chemistry... So the search begins!

Yea, the 5 post rule is smart, help keep the spammers out. I've been a member on a few forums now, so it's interesting to see the methods that different forums try to help filter out the bad eggs. Maybe the TSA could take a few hints from the way forums deal with the issues!

My hobby that cross references so well is flashlights. Which actually has me thinking what other technologies in flashlights may be of use to custom vape mods. Seems like most ecigs are a direct drive to what is basically an electronic heating element. Batteries do not drain in a steady fashion (voltage drops through discharge), a pair of li-ion cells in series with a constant current buck regulator from a typical high power LED flashlight mod could find an interesting home in custom e-cigs if they haven't already.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Since you're interested in flashlights and PV's you really should check out this site Welcome to MadVapes LLC. Not only do they sell both, there's some instructions on how to convert a flashlight into a mod. They're basically the same thing, they just use the battery power to serve a different purpose. Heat vs. light is all. The mod parts are on the left side if you scroll down a bit. There's some flashlight mod how-to's here MadVapes e-Cig 'How To' Tutorials • View forum - Flashlight Mods. They also have a decent selection of batteries. If you're interested in mods on the cheap they sell them too. I've got one of their Maxi Roughstack's that takes 18650's at 3000mah, talk about all day vape, this thing will go for 2 days no problem. They also have box-mod kits here 510 Box Mod Kit that take 14500 batt's. I've got a couple of those too and they're good little vape machines, and at $8.50 you can't beat it.
