I was talking with a couple of my friends last night about my PV and the benefits I have had while using it. One of them asked a question I had not thought about.

"If you had a spare kit that you could give to someone dear to you, who would you give it to. If that person didn't want it how hard would you push for them to try it. Do you think it would be worth the hassle?"

I guess my answer would be my Mom if she were still alive. Yes I would push it hard with her. She smoked 2.5-3 packs a day.

I'm not a very pushy person and normally let results shine. I was just curious what other peoples answers to this question would be.

I've never pushed vaping on anyone. When people see me vaping, their own curiosity often makes them want to know more, and that has led to many of them at least trying it and to several of them making the change.

I've given away many PVs. I don't really know exactly how many but it has been a bunch. Most recently, a few cartos, a few bottles of Dekang juices, and a couple of ego batts to a co-worker, and my 18350 rough stack, some 1.7 ohm single coil cartos, and some AVE juices to one of my oldest friends. It doesn't look like the co-worker has remained interested, but my old friend has been vaping full time for a while now. People are either ready to leave tobacco behind or they aren't. Words aren't likely to change someones' mind who isn't ready or willing yet, so I try to keep the conversation restricted to basic facts and instructions.

My best friend. I've tried. I'll continue to try. I keep letting her try things, and she is interested, but loses interest and goes back to smoking within a week every time I lend her stuff. She does enjoy the flavors, so I'm hoping that one of these days it's going to stick. I'll keep trying as long as she keeps accepting loaners.

I have been pushing my mom for 6 months now with no success, just a bunch of excuses. I sent her some supplies and everything, but no go. She's been smoking 1-2 packs of Newports per day for at least 30+ years...and no end in site. Somehow she is still healthy thankfully. I think it would be easier if we lived in the same state, I'd probably be able to have more of an influence. My theory is, its life or death really, so I'd rather her get annoyed with me now, and be healthy later

Just bought a new Volt kit for my mom, 40 year PAD smoker. Didn't really have to push, she's seen me using it for the past year and I always tell her 'you should give it a shot, you've got nothing to lose'. It hasn't arrived yet, so we'll see what happens.

If you try to force a concept on someone, they will generally respond with apprehension and dismay. If you simply allow them to see the benefits, they will respond with curiosity. Vaping is of course a selfish venture - I didn't care if my friends quit smoking when I started, I only cared if I quit. Now that they've seen me analogue-free for almost a year, they've become curious and are into it themselves. Of course I'm happy to give away juices/parts that I'm not using, as I believe wholeheartedly in paying it forward.
