I'm still having the occasional bad reaction to vaping. I mostly vape VG and now have tried some PG and various mixes of the two. It doesn't happen all the time but sometimes, like tonight, every time I take a few hits off my PV my bronchial tubes start to close up and I start to cough and wheeze a lot. Tonight it seems particularly bad.

The puzzling thing is that it doesn't happen all the time. Some days I'm pretty clear. Some days, not so much. I have been vaping since mid-January and I've been analog free for over 13 days. My best guess is that it's not the juice itself but my allergies. Tree pollen is real high right now.

Anyone else have this problem? I've read a few of you had it and then fixed it with different juice variations but has anyone else had it intermittently like me?

I actually have the same problem. I have not found any combination of VG/PG that really makes a difference. I found drinking lots of water while vaping definitely helps though, along with remembering to take my advair every day. Spring/summer is the worst due to allergies.

It seems for me that inhaling foreign substances causes my asthma to act up either way. I didn't expect it to go away with vaping, but it certainly has lowered in intensity. You could also be experiencing some of the symptons of simply quitting analogues.

I've tried different flavors so it doesn't seem to matter. My only allergy med is Zyrtec once a day and the occasional hit of Primatene. I have been coughing up gunk recently so I guess my lungs are clearing. This reaction, though, seems to be directly caused by vaping. One of my big irritants is oak and my place is surrounded by them. It's oak leaf shedding season and always a bad allergy time for me. I'm hoping that this reaction eases up with the allergy season ends.

I was mainly wondering if anyone else had this too and what they did for it. Must drink more water!

I have asthma and allergies. Having said that, you're not neccesarily going to react the same as me. i had problems with one set of prefilled cartridges I rec'd. Not from any of the vendors here (giveaway thing). I thought it was the PG, but I haven't had that reaction with any of my other prefills I've gotten. It could be that because the PG dries you out so much, it's forming mucous plugs, one of the reasons asthmatics have to be careful with certain cold meds. How bad it was would definitely depend on how much of a problem you're having with allergies at the time. I did notice that if I vape a lot of vg stuff (I can use either or a combination) that my chest sometimes feels a little heavier. So, you could be on the right track with the mix and just not found the right one yet. Finally, asthma is not usually very consistent to start with. Sometimes it is just worse for no apparant reason. Sorry this is so long, but theres a couple of things that could be causing it. I would check with your Dr., you could be fighting an infection or have something else going on.

Thanks, I will. This asthma thing is pretty new for me and I confess that I'm sorta ignorant about dealing with it. It was yet another reason to quit smoking and I had assumed that the smoking had been the main culprit in starting it. I've never really discussed it with my doctor or allergist because it's only been infrequent and only presented itself in the past year or so.

My allergies have gotten alarmingly worse in the past 5 years and I recently found out that, aside from aging, a lot of it can be made worse by imbalanced hormones. I never knew that before! I've had some thyroid issues and am apparently perimenopausal so that sorta makes sense.

You may need to go on a daily asthma med. May be that you only need it for allergy season. Allergies and asthma go hand in hand. If your allergies are worse, they usually cause your asthma to get worse. The quitting smoking will help, but won't neccesarily cure it. There are very very few asthmatics without allergies. And yes, hormones will definitely affect it. See your Dr. and educate yourself as much as possible about asthma, it really does help and makes it easier to live with.

I was actually put on Singulair for allergies a while but it made me loopy/forgetful for some reason. I read later where it can affect sleep.

I have never directly discussed my asthma symptoms with my doc and I should. I need to go see her about something else so I will have a talk with her.

Today? Not a problem! No constriction! Go figure.

If you are always using the same liquid look to pollen and allergens as maybe whats happening.. do you take antihisitimes? Like Claritin etc? does that help?
At this time of year I have trouble with pollens and have to use an inhaler plus antihisitimes to control..

I would first look to these things first since your symptoms are not there all the time..

As far as I know, I'm not allergic to coconut but in recent years I seem to be allergic to everything. Jeesh! In any case, I am getting the same reaction to PG. In fact I think I react worse to 100% PG when I do react. As I said, it's intermittent.

I take a zyrtec every night but nothing really seems to control the allergies this time of year and I think my hormones have me hypersensitive as well. I tried doing the allergy shots once and even the smallest dose made my entire arm swell up. The doc was so alarmed she even gave me an epi-pen. (Never had to use that, thankyouverymuch!) I quit the shots after a few months as my sensitivity was not getting any less and it was painful.
