The I-5 bridge across the Skagit River collapsed at 7 p.m. on Thursday Evening. It was caused by an Over-sized, Over height truck carrying an heavy load. The load hit the upper structure of the bridge taking out the main support of the bridge. Thus causing a catastrophic failure of a 160 foot span of the bridge.
Over 71,000 vehicles cross the river on that bridge per day. Now everyone are being rerouted through Mt. Vernon City streets and other lengthy routes until the bridge can be fixed. Traffic is Really Terrible!
