Greetings, friends!

My name is Jenny. I'm 25, I've been a smoker for 10 years, and I am relatively new to vaping. I started out about 4 years ago, with a whole setup similar to those Blu style e-cigs (I think Volcano was the brand?) I liked that those e-cigs were so similar in my hand to an actual cigarette; I did not like the incessant charging and only moderately satisfying puffs. Needless to say, using those only helped me to quit for about a month.

Fast forward to 3 weeks ago this upcoming Friday. I went to a local vape shop (thank you, Upstate Vape!) and got my first real set up. I got a Vision Spinner 2 w/ Kangertech Protank 2, and I have been VERY pleased with this setup. After the first day of vaping, I cut down from about 10 cigarettes a day to about 4. After a week, I completely quit smoking. After two weeks, the very idea of smoking an actual cigarette is completely unappetizing. I can't, for the life of me, figure out what exactly it is about cigarettes that I ever liked so much. Basically, I LOVE my PV. The best part? When I bought it, I wasn't even planning on quitting... but my reluctance to quit faded pretty fast after I realized how wonderful these truly are.

The one downfall to my new lifestyle, is that on Sunday I successfully killed my first Spinner. I will say-- aesthetically, and in terms of how well it works, I really loved my Spinner. But the fact that it lasted for just over two weeks? That's a little more than frustrating. Tomorrow, I plan on going back and purchasing another, and I'll try to be more gentle with this one. (Truthfully, in those two weeks it took more than a couple significant tumbles. I didn't think it would be enough to knock the connections, but apparently it was.) For the price, it's worth it, and like I said... I really like my setup. It more than does the trick for me.

My question to all of you experienced vapers, however, is: Where do I go from here? I always planned on having a [functioning] Spinner as a backup, but eventually I planned on upgrading to something even better. What would you recommend in terms of, something that operates as well or better than the Spinner 2, but is built to handle more wear-and-tear?

Also, I'm saving the broken Spinner, as I'm pretty sure I can fix it. The button still lights up, it charges... it's just not firing my tank. (and it's definitely not the tank) Anyone have experience monkeying with these?

I think that's what I might go for... a friend that recommended I try the Spinner went to one of those box mods, and I think that with the tank I've been using I'll really enjoy it. I tried hers with the kanger protank 3 mini, but I wasn't completely sold on the airflow with the mini. I like the idea of being able to track my puffs and something that can withstand more of a beating :)

Thank you! I don't, but when I take it to my dad's shop in a couple days he might. I tried to pry it up but I don't think I could get enough leverage. It did just occur to me that I have knitting needles that might be strong/small enough to pry it, though. The lesson I have learned here is to not screw on my tanks tighter than necessary, lol.
If I give it a good shake though, I can hear something rattle about... My boyfriends spinner does not do that so I'm thinking a connection is loose.

Welcome to the forum. The Vision Spinner 2 is a great battery for that level of vaping I still have two I keep for backup. As for an upgrade that is more durable the only thing I have heard people brag about is the REO...but I can't afford one. My regulated mod is a Vamo V6. I use it a much as my mechs. But I wouldn't want to drop it too many times. And your VS2 sounds like the center pin is knocked down or lose. Try to gently wiggle it around a little with a pocket knife or something...if it's still there. :2c:

I'm pretty new to the whole vaping thing, but I second the Eleaf istick suggestion. I was using a cheap pen I picked up from the local vape shop and used it on and off for a few months, but the goal was to quit smoking analog cigs and the pen wasn't getting the job done. I picked up the istick with an Aspire Nautilus tank this morning, and WOW! I get it now. The difference between this and the pen is like the difference between throwing a bullet and shooting one. The battery came with nearly a full charge, and after using it all day, I barely put a dent in it. I've also only had one cigarette since, and can honestly say I enjoy the vape much more. I finally experience the real flavor of the juice. Hope I can keep this rolling.

Thank you all for your help!

It is indeed still there. When I'm bored someday I'll play with it a little more; I got my new toy today and frankly right now I'm like "Spinner who!?" lol.

If anyone's curious, I did go back and purchase the Innokin MVP 2.0. I'm using it with my protank 2 still, and although it's a little bulky on top it is an excellent setup. I tried my friend's (same but with the protank mini 3) and wasn't as impressed with the small size. Plus, the way I vape I'd probably be refilling it 4 times a day. So far, so good. I paid retail prices today because I couldn't wait, which I was totally fine with, but I am definitely ordering a couple more online to hang onto as a backup. Success!

Good luck! This was exactly how I felt when I tried my first real setup. I think I was a little apprehensive of these style PV's because I liked how the original ones were so similar in size/shape to an actual cigarette. Now, I could hardly care. In fact, I appreciate that there is such a huge distinction between these and analogs-- let's face it, these are not analogs, and no one here wants them to be them.
Also, like I mentioned, I wasn't even planning on quitting when I got my first Spinner. My first week with it, I was working on the last pack of smokes I had-- and had my Spinner not died early on me, I wouldn't have purchased another pack (which I am not smoking now that I have my replacement. They're so gross.) Moral: make sure you have a backup, just in case. ;)
