Hi everyone!

My name is Anders and I live in Sweden. I've been smoking analogs for 12 years or so and I've been smoking half a pack a day roughly. More when alcohol is involved :p
I'm a totally new forum user that just recently got in contact with vaping. As mentioned I do smoke analogs still (haven't ordered my starting kit yet ;P) and the reason why I became interested initially was that my boss actually said to me that "dude, why don't you try those e-cigarettes. You can sit in here in your office and smoke all you want. No need running up and down 5 floors just to get your poison!".

So, I started looking into the whole thing and pretty quickly got past the whole analog-lookalikes thing and started looking at some eGo-style VV-batteries and some different atomizers. That quickly got me in to some larger setups based on clearo's and a Vamo v5 and somewhere around here I became aware of some letter combination diseases (well, not really but I because quite obsessed with it ;]) or something, because I've been reading forums and stuff for a few days straight now.
All-inall: Wow, this is one cool area to dive in to (and wow this pool is deep :D)!

Since nothing good can come out of smoking analogs I've been thinking of doing this the right way, right away. After doing some reading and also attending the IRC-channel asking around I've been thinking of buying these things just to get started. I'm looking for comments so feel more than free to comment;

Travel/party/hunting-kit:
Kanger EVOD
Kanger Mini Protank 2v2 (for more static situations where breaking risks are minimized)
a few 1.8 Ohm coils
eGo-style VV 1100mAh battery
USB-style charger for eGo-type batteries.

Main/home/office-kit:
Kanger Protank 2
a few 1.8 Ohm coils
Vamo v5
2x Panasonic NCR18650B
Nightcore i4 charger

Comments and thoughts on above from me:
Regarding EVODs, I'm thinking one per taste or so since they're so cheap.
One main reason of starting with the all the mentioned clearo's is coil/head compatibility. It seems nice just having to have one type of heads at home in the beginning at least :)
When it comes to batteries for the Vamo, I don't think I'll go with 18350 since the reason for that setup is to be a more "stationary" setup, size is not an issue.

Questions I have right off the bat:
What do you call the replacement coil-kits for the Kanger clearo's, heads or coils ... or what? :)
I'm kind of a lazy guy and was thinking that clearo's are a convenient way of vaping. Easy to clean, easy to refill and then just puff away. Am I missing something by starting down that path? It seems like many of you experienced vapers are doing drippers but it seems a bit more messy. Correct or not? :)

That's about it for now. Again, feel free to comment. That's my main reason for doing this post in the first place!

The replacement coils are generally called "replacement coil heads". :)

Clearomizers are a good choice for a novice vapor because they are easy to fill, relatively easy to clean, and relatively easy to replace the coil heads. Their only drawback is that they can mute some flavors, and they can be inconsistant and fussy in performance. Look for You Tube videos on the care and maintanance of all of your chosen gear. The juice attachments made of plastic (Evod) and not glass (ie Kanger Protank and Smoktech Aro) may crack or melt when using certain flavors such as cinnamon & citrus flavors.

Something Safe for Cinnamon & Citrus Flavors

Proper Terminology: Is it a carto, a tank, or what?

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected?

The only thing I question from your inventory list would be your choice of the Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mah batteries. The Vamo is an electronic regulated mod which requires "high drain" type batteries, which are IMR or hybrid batteries. The battery you chose is not a high drain battery.

Why High Drain Batteries?

A better choice of battery would be the Panasonic NCR18650PF or PD 2900mah battery. This is a "hybrid" battery which is high drain. The Nightcore i4 is an excellent charger.

Many many thanks for the elaborate answers. I'll be ordering those batteries instead.

Thanks for the info regarding terminology.
I've read up on tank busters juices a bit and will just need to read up on that a bit more.

I just got into reading about doing your own coils and that seems like a small universe in it self. It seems really cool but maybe I should get started vaping instead of doing stuff that seems kinda crazy advanced. :)

Again, thanks again and if other have other info/opinions, keep it coming!

Sometimes reading through posts randomly pays off. Appreciate you pointing that out. I've been using the panasonic "B" batteriers based on a stores recommendation in a variable voltage/wattage mod. So much to still learn!

Why not have your Vamo as your hunting rig? ;)

Oh and the Nitecore i4 has a 12vdc port on it, so you can plug it into your cigarette lighter for charging

I was rocking the flattop Efest 2000 mAh V1's in my Vamo V3...they work EXCEPTIONALLY well and I got about 2x days of vaping out of 1 battery, I bought two and swapped them out before the Vamo hit LOW V though. (not sure where you can get em in Sweden but the most recommended site for batts on this forum in RTDVapor

Welcome to ECF! :toast:

I'd say you are off to a good start.
I would not think about dripping or rebuildables for now.
For now i'd say it is important to have something easy
to keep you off the stinkies. You can always ease into the more
advanced stuff at your own pace.

I would order my e-liquid online. It is much cheaper than the brick-and-mortar stores.

Vape on! :vapor:

@Warhawk: Oh man. Gotta get one of those skins!
Are they like a vinyl sticker or more easily removable/exchangeable? Thanks for the info :)

@Willy: I told him today that I ordered a rig to get vaping and he seemed kinda intrigued. Indeed I gave him some well deserved cudoz and bought him some pastries to the afternoon coffee today :D

@gotch: I've been reading up on some Swedish vaping blogs/forum threads and it seems that most ppl seem to order online, but it's such a plethora of tastes and brands that I don't even know where to start. But, I got to start somewhere so I guess it's bull horn grabbing time :)

Much appreciated!

It's relatively easy to find good vaping gear, but finding good flavors can be a challenge. Personal taste is such an individual and subjective thing. What one person likes another likely will not. Someone's recomendation as their favorite juice may well suck should you try it.

If you don't have a vape shop locally which allows sampling of flavors before you buy, the best way is to buy sampler packs from vendors who offer them, or to buy smaller bottles. You wouldn't want to buy a 30 ml bottle of some flavor only to find out that it sucks. Once you find a flavor or two that you like, you can re-order a larger bottle next tme. This helps cut down the expense of finding flavors that you will enjoy.

Great advice on the sampler packs. I've only just started looking at the actual juices and didn't actually see the sampler packs until you mentioned them. Thanks!
Ideally you will find vendors in your region of the world to help cut down on international shipping charges. Below are three USA e-liquid vendors who offer sampler packs or smaller bottles of juice. I use these companies myself and recommend them. They may have international outlets that you could order from if you contact them:

Virgin Vapors :vapor:Store Locator | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

Vaperite

Your Online Electronic Cigarette Store - AltSmoke:vapor:E-Liquid - NicQuid, eVo, Space Jam, Jameson, Standard, Five Pawns, and Perfected Vapes! - AltSmoke

Badtitude: oh, I feel a sudden black whole developing in my bank account. So many great sounding tastes. Order, try, rinse and repeat - ENGAGE! :)

Weisen: Roger that! I've actually ordered some kanthal even tho I haven't even gotten my starters kit (order yesterday, lol ;D). As soon as is burn out my first head I'll do a microcoils and cotton job on it I think, and might just do it a little bit higher ohm (since all the replacement heads I ordered at the same time will be ~1.8 Ohm too) :)

TheKid: the MVP was one of the earlier VV's I looked at. Not sure what "made" me order the Vamo. I just guess there was so many very-much-bang-for-the-buck reviews out there on the Vamo.

yay!
I found a semi-local company that had the vamo v5 and a PT2 instock. I visited them earlier tonight (extremely friendly and helpful. Not sure mentioning them is against the rules or not, can't remember that whole list in my head at all times .. trolo ;D) and bought it together with a single AW 18650 and one of their tobacco eJuices. The juice's name is RY44 (some kind of RY4 I assume?), not completely to my taste, but quite ok.
I've had my first vape a few hours ago and wow, I thijnk I over did it on nicotine in the mix. Haven't had a kick like that in a few years :))

Let the tasting begin!
