Well, 9 days in, today, and firing on all cylinders, things are going fab with my new e-cig, I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in smoking a real cigarette ever again.

...AND...

Even better, yesterday I had lunch with an old school friend, who borrowed my second e-cig (the one I'd originally bought for my bloke, lol) for a few hours, and she loved IT!

Fast forward several hours an a couple of vino's later :toast: and I'm back at the vape shop buying her her first starter kit as well!! :D

Got a lovely thank you message from her this morning, saying that she'd packed up her tobacco products and ...binned them.

Feeling very pleased with myself now!:thumbs:

Congratulations to you for quitting cigs :) As for introducing a friend..... It's a good feeling to help someone quit a habit like smoking, isn't it  I especially like the "NO S***T" face they make when they realize VAPING WORKS. The only thing better, when they come to you and say they slipped, had a few drags of a cig, and it tastes horrible! Haven't found a way to mask that "told you so" grin yet:D

Congratulations on your quitting and thank you for posting this story. I love reading about how someone else found vaping to be the answer. I've help several started vaping so I know what you are feeling. Continued success to you. I look forward to reading more about your "crusade" and vaping journey.

Oh you are so spot on!... her "NO S***T" face, as you put it ...was utterly priceless. Although actually it was more of a stunned blankness, FOLLOWED by a "HOOOOLY HALLELUJAH!!!"

Ghostie, that is a great story! Congrats to you and your friend!

I know! Isn't it fab!! I'm on one woman a crusade now to convert every smoker I know :D

Honestly I simply cannot believe how easy it's been. I've smoked 20 a day for 30 years, and I now Im thinking that I just wish someone had handed me an e-cig for a few hours trial run years ago. So Ive now made a resolution to myself not to pass up a single opportunity to do exactly that for all my smoking friends.

Ghostie it does feel good huh? Congrats on bringing another to the fold.

I just couldn't help but do that for very close friends and family that smoked, sending a care package to El Paso to my cousin, who's had an equally tough time quitting the smokes these last 30 years like I did, tried numerous times, nothing stuck...he didn't know about them. other than the cigalike's and like me, they just made him want a ciggie.

good for you!!! :)

That's a lovely thing to do, Ginny :)

How long have you been away from tobacco now? Have you had any hiccups where you've been tempted?

And also, from what I've been reading it seems to be the done thing to move on rather quickly from your first e-cig, to bigger and better upgrades, and hardly anyone seems to stay with the middle of the road ordinary ones like the ones they started with, why is this? Or am I just misreading the comments from more experienced vapers in the General Forum?

Hi, and welcome to the Forum, great news about your first convert. Keep up the good work! Everyone here is different in what path they choose for their personal Vape Journey. Some advance to bigger and to them better things. Others like the simpler easy gear they started with. It is all customizable to each Vaper. I still love my round ego style batteries, they just feel right to me. I have purchased larger, longer lasting round batteries and some with variable voltage and variable wattage, but I rotate these with my original 1100 ego's and enjoy them all. I have found at least a half dozen tanks and clearomizer styles that I like and use these each with the battery they match or the color of the day(sort of like mood rings :D), thats what makes Vapeing so much fun, there is just so much neat gear to choose from and it's completely your choice how and when and why you use it. So just do your own thing and enjoy being smoke free. :)

Well yes, Nana, it certainly is great to be free of tobacco, and it really is a feeling of freedom, which is wonderful to experience :)

Thanks for the explanation, I was beginning to wonder if I might be heading in the direction of getting free of tobacco only to find myself getting kind of addicted to vaping gadgetry instead, and ending up spending nearly as much on mods/kits than I used to spend of cigarettes!?! At the moment though I feel quite happy with my two "Truvape HYBRIDS". I bought one of them for my boyfriend but he's not ready to get stuck in to trying it out yet, so I've confiscated it in the meantime and I'm rotating them for a bit of variety at the moment. I have a juice called Rainbow Tobacco in one, and the other is filled with a nice Toffee flavour.

There are only two vape shops in my town, and both only sell £20 to £40 starter kits, so if I wanted to "upgrade" I'd probably have to buy online, and I'm not sure I'd have a clue what I was looking for in any case, lol. Anyway for now I'm happy enough with what I've got :)

Ghostie, I have a few Vape shops in my area as well, and I do buy somethings from them, but most of my gear has come from ebay and online juice brewers. I have dabbled in some do-it-yourself single flavor ejuice, but I have fallen in love with some very yummy flavors from several shops (all on line). Like the gear you choose, ejuice is also very individual to the vaper and there are so many flavors out there that I look forward to spending the rest of my life sampling as many as I can. :D The thing I find most enjoyable though is getting Vape Mail. I know it's silly, and even though I buy the stuff and pay for it myself I always feel like I'm getting a gift when I'm expecting something in the mail. To me it's like a tiny bit of Christmas whenever a package shows up in my mailbox. I never knew I could get so excited over $4.00 worth of coils for one of my favorite tanks. Vapeing can get expensive if you let it, but what price can you put on a healthier life? So I advise you to enjoy the little things you can while you can and just be sensable with your investments in gear. Enjoy and keep passing it forward. :)
