Darth Vapor is a portable usb powersource for passthrough use or battery charging.

Darth is powered by 4 X 1.5V D cells, (plan on adding a regultator later, as well as a 5v or 6v DC transformer and bypass switch.)

Has two red LEDs (one in each eye) that indicates main power status, Master on/off switch and a female USB connector.

I've run my 510 usb passthrough from it and my DSE 901 usb battery charger. I haven't had it functional long enough to give you a battery lifespan just yet.

Here are some pics.

You can see part of my dest in the background, on the left. 90% of the random stuff you see in the pic is e-cig projects. LMAO

It does make me want to make a cartoon where Luke knocks Vader out and then charges his lightsaber from the usb port.
And you messed up a GOOD DV helmet for an e-cig supply.
May your force dry up.
Ahh, but its a Sith helmet.

i wonder if darth vapor can power my skull?

Yes, the question is for how long, (and I realy need to add that regulator).

Absofrigginlutely awesome, can you make me one, pleeeeease???

I'm afraid that I've had the helmet kicking arround for a number of years. (the vocorder was fragged when I got it.) And I haven't seen one since.

The battery box is another unknown. The big MB on it suggest that it was made by Milton Bradley. I have no idea what MB product it went to, I found it in a thrift store on its own for a buck or two. (probably some kind of building set that included moving parts, hence the battery pack.)

Realy, I had to make it just for the comedy factor, although I suspect that with a new set of batteries you could run a usb passthrough on it for most of a day, if not more.

And realy my other idea was to mount the battery connector to the top of the helmet, and put a momentary switch on it like the skull, but I decided that it was to cumbersome.

You can still get the helmet on ebay, but not very cheap for the most part. I got lucky when I searched for a few months it seemed, and finally found a used one for 10 bucks. I was fortunate that it still worked and was in good shape, so needless to say I won't be modding mine any time soon. Who knows though, for modding you could probably find one on ebay that does not work. The voice box has switches etc. and would probably be a neat thing to mod as the wire to the mic runs through the strap that attaches to the helmet. For halloween, being able to vape whilst blowing clouds out of it would be pretty cool.
