I got a passthrough with my Janty Kissbox, but was disappointed that it provided only 3.7 volts or so from the in-line battery. I thought it would provide the voltage from the USB device I was using, in my case, a Kensington Portable Power Pack (KPPP) which puts out 5v/1A. I liked high-voltage vaping (5+ volts), and considered several options on how to modify this passthrough without destroying it.

Since I do use the occassional rechargeable 10440 sized battery, I decided to separate the components without losing flexibility. By simply connecting a female USB connector on the in-line battery box, I can use it as a battery charger from any USB port. By connecting a male USB connector to the portion of the passthrough that feeds the Kissbox manual switch and atomizer, I could use it with the higher powered KPPP. When necessary, I can reconnect the Kissbox back to the battery box.

Battery Box receives a USB Female connector...

Adding a Male USB connector to the passthrough allowed me to plug in directly to the KPPP and get use of the full 5v output...

The battery box can be used as a stand-alone 10440-type battery charger...

After surgery, the whole thing can be reconnected...
