really guys.......
they are both clones as far as that goes-there is no new technology in any of them.

Why not just put in different screws? How much is a screw- 10 cents?

On svoe mesto's site their kayfun lite(out of stock) is $102.30 when you convert rubles to $. Couldn't find a $70 one anywhere- and that was before shipping. You can't order a russian direct from uct or kebo. Heck, i don't think you can even find them....

Anyway, when is the futura supposed to be delivered? It is definitely something i will get after someone either reviews it or gives a real hands on account. I don't need to be the first in line any more, but i do need to know it will be money well spent- so what is the latest word?

I ordered the titanium, with 22mm ego+510 (I liked the look of the 21mm, but I have too many 22mm toppers that I want to look flush). My invoice number was in the 1900 range so I'm guessing I have a while to wait? I think I pre-ordered about 5 weeks ago!?

I'd been waiting for a DNA20 tube mod that wasn't telescopic (dunno why, hate how telescopics look.). Didn't really feel like waiting for a possible chance to get a Wizard, not to mention its twice the price of the Futura. I saw the Futuras at the beginning of one of Busardo's videos and pretty much went at pre-ordered it once I figured out what it was.

rounding third and heading home...
He posted like 1-2 days ago that they will start shipping next week. He specified which colors/top caps will be shipping first. Asking questions which have already been answered is quite annoying.

thanks mom- i'll try to better next time.....

Here is a picture of the Futura prototype which was on display at VaperCon last week.

It's set up with the contour cap and a Russian 91% built with a 1.5 ohm micro coil and cotton wick. We cranked it up to 20 watts while vaping Moon Mountain Vapor Tranquility Trauma at 6mg.

This setup produced an INSANE amount of vapor, flavor and throat hit.

We really loved the heft and form of the Futura. The finish is very nice and the device performed extremely well at all wattage settings.

The Futura is definitely worth the wait.

My only gripe which might not be the case with the final release is the very visible phillips screw beside the screen. I ordered the Titanium finish partly because I didn't want the screw to be so obvious, also because all my vaping stuff is stainless/silver looking. Not into those new fangled colours that everyone is talking about :p heh.. I wonder if it might look nicer if NexGen used a security screw of some type, or a hex/torx instead of the phillips. Just so it isn't like *Pow, in your face screw*.. I dunno, whatever. Still much easier than trying to get and pay for a Wizard.

You guys... We tried a bunch of different screws, including torx, hex, etc. and none of them seemed quite right. Either we couldn't get them to fit flush or the counter-sink was off somehow. So we settled on the phillips as the least bad option. This screw is necessary for aligning the board with the tube so it's non-negotiable.

But, to cheerier topics, everything is actually on schedule so far, and we will, as promised, begin shipping this week. As a reminder, black and titanium go out first, everything else to follow shortly thereafter.

My thanks to Jim Bowen of Moon Mountain Vapor for posting the pic. Remember, that's a contoured top cap upon which the Russian sits, so if you ordered the inclined or 510-only you'll achieve a flusher fit with 22mm attys. On the other hand Ego attys, as well as the smaller diameter tanks, look awesome with the contoured caps, so if those are your burners of choice you'll be very pleased.

Any chance that in the future you may offer beauty rings for the device so that tanks will fit flush? I ended up going with the contoured cap since I have both 19mm and 22mm tanks-but not sure either is going to look very flush. I have been looking for a new tank to use with my new futura but haven't a clue which type will look the best. Any suggestions folks???
