.... so we have a problem with the 510 cap - Pretty sure Nexgen said there would be no way juice could go down there; now we hear stories of it seeping in right to the display screen. Feel really bad for you guys and for myself. Clearly the fault testing on these devices were not carried out thoroughly or possibly its just a few that are not centered properly.

I wonder how much juice misterkorean had leaking and how long...

It's still all just assumption at this point. I am curious how he came to the conclusion that a leak caused the problem, I mean short of just straight up pouring juice into the screw hole, there is no way to really know. As for juice seeping through to the battery connector I feel like that would require more than just a leak. Either way, definitely a bummer.

Also, if a leak is actually the problem, then my suspicion is that it's not the top cap that's the issue, but the screw used in the 510 only. since it's a headless screw, there is nothing to properly seal on the o-ring and I'd guess it's not so easy to get a good seal directly on the threading. When I have a chance I'll try and figure out what type of threading is used and try some alternative screws ideally something with a screwhead or one where the threading only covers part of the screw so the surface on the o-ring is smooth. Either way, shouldn't be too hard to fix it. Probably could even fix it just by popping the screw out and covering it with a generous amount of noalox.

I had some moisture in the 510 connector using a protank. But I would take the center post out when cleaning with a q-tip to stop it building up. Now that I'm using my new Russian 91% everything stays dry in the 510.

There is a black insulator in the 510 but I'm not sure if its rubber or just delrin. If it is just delrin there is a chance moisture could eventually get through the threads I would think. But let's hope not.

I have the 22mm 510+eGo and after watching pbusardo's video I tried the blow test and mine isn't completely air tight either.

Merry Christmas vapers! Unfortunatly I wasn't able to unwrap my Futura this morning, but tracking shows that it will be here tomorrow. I ordered the 22mm 510/Ego top and I'll test it out, for leaks and some of the other reported problems, when I get it tomorrow and let you all know what I find. I'm hoping it's a good one and I find nothing!

Got Mine today! It is really nice order number 1973 Sky Blue and is pretty much flawless. I have a Russian 91% on it with Nicoticket's Frenilla and it is performing perfectly. 2013-12-26 19.17.45-1.jpg

Same here. Was told mine went out on the 22nd and I would get a tracking number. No tracking number and no futura:(

As far as i remember i payed 25 US for postage - That much money really should include a tracking number. I emailed Jon about it and he says it is out of his hands now. Really hope nothing goes wrong with this mod; I can already tell after sale service is going to be a ..... to deal with.

The way things have gone thus far, I have zero faith in the Futura making it from my local post office to my door.
The Russian 91% has been up all night waiting for its mate

Keep us posted and post pics when you get it!! I really hope Jon stops in today to give us an order number update.

Been trying to run my new Russian 91% on my Futura, but I just keep getting this yuck taste from it. It's like this kinda stinky aftertaste on the exhale.. I've tried boiled cotton and silica, like maybe its slightly burnt taste or something. I've been using micro coil builds, my wick isn't too tight or anything like that. Perhaps I'll try a more traditional open wrap instead of the micro coil. Didn't realize how small the build deck is lol, used to 22mm Genesis style rebuildables. Got tired of the taste so I've been using the Protank again. Guess I'll just keep trying, I know the kayfun design is a good one.

Sorry I don't have any pics standard titanium, contoured 510/ego serial number 0285 the 510 threads needed to be reworked.
My only regret had I known how well the Russian 91% was going to work I would have gone with the 510 only top.
Either Jon or Mike responded to every E-mail within 24hrs sometimes well after hours over on the left coast.
I am very happy with the Futura and wish NexgenVapor a prosperous new year.

Take apart your Russian and clean it thoroughly with soap and water. Put a lot of focus into cleaning the threading. A lot of gunk gets built up in there. Take it apart completely and separate all the plastic pieces from metal pieces(plastics as in o-rings and insulator). Throw the metal pieces in a pot of water and boil it. Drain, dry, and reassemble. That might help with the wierd taste.

Yup, new atomizers typically have lingering machine oils throughout and it's a good idea to disassemble and at least let them soak in soapy water for a bit, scrub with a toothbrush and thoroughly rinse. I've had exceptions that were fine. You can usually hold them close to your nose and smell the chemicals. I have had Kangers that needed cleaning before use but I guess they may be getting better with that. Still a good idea to give them a sniff test first.
