you could probably use washer nuts on that one (your marked negative) to raise it up make it easier to wrap the coil no? or even swap the locations?

The post marked ignore (I tore mine off) is basically useless for any SS wick. Way too far from the threaded hole and the wire hole is too high.
The unthreaded one, marked wick, is also a bit far from the screw, so make sure your first wrap is low and the wire is making contact with the plate (otherwise it will be a major hot spot).
With mine there was a very tiny nut (look close) which was tightened onto (more like into) the silicone insulator. Be careful here as it's quite easy to tear it up. Luckily I had a tiny washer to use which spread the pressure across the whole top of silicone insulator.
The larger knurled nuts from the Griffith seem like a much better aproach.
I am noticing a difference between this single pic and the one in the step by step ... Huge difference ! Not the same placement of the post ... The negative is flat on this ...while on the step by step is just like the " ignore one" which the flat is how it should be really
Yep you're right they are different, grrrr that one also looks like it uses a standard metal tank unlike the stainless one, so this is probably their go-to "how to fill" picture. I need to take some breakdown pics.

see pic, first image.
Bout to buy one of these as my first Rebuildable. What all do I need with it?
Comes complete save for a battery and juice.
Really helps greatly to have a VV PV with an ohm meter though.
This comes with ss mesh? Thought it was silica.
Was also thinking about picking up 2 extra Inner Center Posts, 12 coils of wick and coil set, maybe some 32 awg resistance heating wire.. I wish ss mesh was in stock.. I'll be honest though, I don't know what most of that is![]()
Thought I was in the Griffin thread![]()
Never mind you are I was wrong i seen the pics of aga sorry .
Got a ProVari. Good to go there.

You'll want a butane torch though, unless you have a gas stove.
Not too sure that you would need the center post - what Eric sells is the piece that connects the base and the top plate together, not the actual battery post. I don't see you needing one unless you cross-thread it, but then you would probably ruin the base or plate threads at the same time.
I can't see ever needing to replace a center post, and the wick and coil sets won't be useful in the Griffin, (they're for Phoenix and Wyvern ?).
