Hello ecf! good to be here. I'm new to vaping, about 2 weeks ago I bought my first e-cig off of ebay without doing much research first (stupid I know), but I think I got lucky with my purchase. It's an Xpower 900, came with 2 3.7v 900mAh manual batts, a USB charger with a wall charger attachment, 1 atomizer, 5 carts, and a bottle of generic high nic juice (I think it's suppose to be tobacco, but there's not much flavor)
From the first pull I was hooked! I've been smoking since I was 12 years old, I've tried to quit numerous times, I've tried the patch, the gum, zyban, and I've been successful for a couple months at a time, but I always seem to drift back to smoking. NOTHING has made me not want a cigarette the way vaping has. The first week I didn't even think about a real cig until I went out to the bar with a couple friends. After a couple glasses I decided to try and smoke an analog, it was the most disappointing, dirty tasting cig I've ever smoked and I went right back to vaping my Xpower. At that moment, I realized that as long as I have an e-cig I can confidently say I'm DONE with analogs.
The only real problem I've encountered so far is the fact that I can't put this thing down. Since I can't gauge when I've had the equivalent to a real cig, it's as satisfying as a real cig, chain vaping doesn't tear up my lungs, and I don't have to go outside to smoke it. I've been hitting it almost nonstop. in fact a couple days after the bar I burned out the atomizer
Just started getting really hot, I took it off, let it cool, cleaned it out, let it drain, and reloaded it only to find that it wouldn't heat up anymore. I ordered more but because I'd have to wait a couple days to get them I broke down and bought a pack of analogs
. But, since I got my replacements, that pack has gone right back in the drawer to collect dust until I have another emergency, Which I don't really see happening.
Shortly before it burned out, I started lurking around here and doing some research. I quickly realized the main disadvantage of my PV is the fact that the tread size isn't compatible with many parts and accessories, so I ordered a 301/601 to 510 adapter, and then went on a little 510 shopping spree. I bought a LR atomizer, 5 pack of cartomizers, a five pack of LR cartomizers, a pack of flat tip cartridges, a drip tip, a few bottles of various e-juices, and a 5v USB passthrough with an auto switch (which OMG, I love more than my xpower! more vapor and throat hit and it's perfect for chain vaping in front of my computer), I really love all the options, paraphernalia, mods, different tips and trick that comes along with vaping. It really has the potential to become a serious hobby for me rather than just a means to quit smoking, I could really get into this.
Anyway, my question is this: I made the mistake of not buying a syringe for refilling cartos, so I've just been taking out the plugs, turning the carto on an angle and carefully dripping juice down the sides of the carto, letting it soak into the filler, being very careful not to get any into the straw in the center, and just turning and dripping to evenly distribute it until it's fully saturated, and then letting it sit for about 20 minutes before vaping to ensure it soaks all the way down. It seems to be working fine, I don't taste any burnt filler or anything, but I just want to know if this is ok. Is there some reason why you have to use a syringe, or is it just a convenient, less mess, sort of thing? I tried searching for the answer but couldn't really find anything. Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone! I look forward to being a part of the community. Peace.
