Hello to all!

Wanted to share my experience with vaping.

I have smoked for 25 years, mosltly Marlboro Red 100s, on average 1/2 pack per day, up to 3/4 of a pack on occasion. On March 3rd this year, I purchased my usual 2 packs of cigs in the morning. Something got me thinking that day and I started reading about e-cigs. That evening I stopped at Walgreens and purchased a Blu starter pack. I didn't have high hopes, but Blu made me believe that quitting was possible, but it wasn't quite doing it for me. On the 3rd day, I stoped at a local B&M store that has a patient and friendly staff. I picked up a ProTank Mini, 2 batteries, and 2 bottles of juice. Man, taking that hit from the ProTank was just so awesome! I will always remember that first hit. It made me realize that I was done smoking analogs for good! Haven't had one since March 5th. I still have the 1/2 pack and 1 unopened full pack in my car, which I had every intention of finishing.

I have been really lucky as far as not having major symptoms of quitting. Had some dreams the first few days of smoking, but that ended by the end of the first week. My constant throat clearing and cough went away after 3 days! I started feeling my lungs when I breathe -- I am still getting used to the feeling of a full breath of air -- it almost makes me feel drunk. I am starting to smell things in a way I haven't for 25 years. A lot of childhood sents that are stirring my memory... It's really wild! Food is tasting incredible! It's not making me over-eat, its just letting me enjoy what I'm eating so much more. I can now smell a smoker from the car in front of me going at 60MPH.

I am still using my eGo-T batteries and Kanger ProTank Mini. I have ordered two more ProTanks because I want a more convenient way to switch up liquids. I found an awesome liquid (Blue Voodoo by MEL) that I have vaped for 3 weeks straight. I have now ordered some different liquids from MEL, Ahlusions, and MBV. Can't wait to try them!

BTW, my doctor was all in favor of me trying e-cigs. He said that nicotine in itself has not shown as being more harmful than caffine. I only had my ProTank a few days when I saw him, and he was asking all kinds of questions so he can tell his other patients that want to quit. He said that he was going to visit a B&M shop to get more info.

Anyhow, sorry for being longwinded. I appreciate the openess, thoughtfulness, and caring of the ECF community. I have read many posts, and this by far is the most supportive online community I have enoutered.

:)

Congratulations on your decision and welcome to the forum. I smoked Marlboros for 28 years myself and Cigarillos for the last 3 years. My story is similar. Started with the blus at first but those really didn't do it for me. Since I visited the local B&M 4 months ago and got a real setup I've smoked one cigarette. I never planned to quit smoking but vaping made it so unbelievably easy. Anyhow. I can get really long winded as well. Just wanted to say welcome. Congratulations on your decision and it's really cool that your doctor is on board.

Welcome to the forum brother! Great to hear you made the switch and now your doctor is on board with it too! Who knows, you may have unknowingly just helped to convert some other patients as well.

Haven't tried Ahlusions yet (have heard nothing but good things) but Mt. Baker is great. Great variety and flavor, and you just can't beat those prices.
