Hello all,

I have been vaping for about 3 months from 10-15 a day. I started off with an iTaste VV with an aClear DC, then I moved up to the Protank and Aerotank. Soon after I bought an iTaste SVD and an IGO-W rda drilled out to 2.5mm which was a game changer for me.

Since then I have been obsessed with getting "big clouds" and the most flavour. So I have been trying heavier VG (<=8mg) juices , bought a Stingray clone with a couple of Sony VTC5's and the JPGE Cryptex (currently with dual-coil 28Ga Microcoils at 0.7Ohms).

My main concern is how can you tell when the battery is running out / when it is time to charge.

I welcome any advice/tips from the veterans out there too :)

I am a sub-ohm vaper using vct4 and 5's using a .35 build on my tohb I would say I get maybe an hour to 2 hours from a fresh charge, and then swap out my battery, for me I can just tell when my vape isn't as warm, and I am taking longer pulls. By all means I can continue vaping on it for 4+ hours, but at 1-2 I feel a significant drop in performance.

THe temp drop is my identifier for sure. After a while you know exactly what your ohms taste and feel like, so any variation and you know somethings not right. I have mine built at .6, and I'll keep the same battery in until I leave work. I don't vaqe heavily at work so I can string it out for a while. I also use VTC4/VTC5 batteried, best ones IMO/

I like a bit of heat but not too much, the Cryptex RDA I have has heat-sinks to reduce the heat so it comes out cooler.
I've put a fresh vtc 5 in yesterday evening and I can only notice a slight drop in performance now in work.

Chain vaped for an hour or so last night and took about 6 vape breaks in work so I'm pretty impressed with the capacity compared to Panasonic NCR18650b's I was using on my iTaste SVD.

Any recommendations for coil size /cotton thickness for sub-ohms. I usually build nano coils but I found It burns easily at .5Ohms so I built a larger coil and its wicking much better now, but it feels like it could be better. Also when building my dual coils I find that sometimes one heats up quicker than the other, any idea on what is causing that?

As far as cotton thickness, someone on here said it perfectly - if you think you have enough, you have too much. Use very little cotton.

I find getting the cotton right a pain, I've seen some videos where people twist it tight first and others where they put it in fluffy, some where its a tight fit others where its really loose. Should I be altering my cotton depending on the thickness of the liquid (pg:vg)

What I do, and as alwayd YMMV...

For a high PG fluid I roll it, tug it through until I feel resistance then stop. Cut both ends so there is 4-5mm of cotton on the deck.

For high VG fluid I roll it, and very very lightly pul it through, at the first sign of resistance I stop and repeat the steps for length.

There is a certain experimentation that will turn knowledge for this. I do not know what causes it, but playing with the coil GENTLY moving it up or down, as well as making sure the coil is squeezed together without compromising the shape of your coil. It just takes some play and some experience to get it right, but it is extremely easy. Whatever I wrapped my coil on, *drillbits* I keep them in after I have put the leads through, as well as tightened down the screws, and make it look as uniform and even as possible, take the bits out, start to pulsate and adjust accordingly to make sure both coils are firing evenly and from the inside out.
