Hello Eddie...And Welcome...I recently quit and smoked for over 30 years...There are numerous good basic starter kits and most are in the $20-$30 range...I'll give you one I like...innokin endura t18...But it is only one of many...The "Forum Suppliers" Tab at the top of the page is a good place to start...Some Major Brands:

Kanger / eGo / Innokin / Aspire /eLeaf...Just a few to shop through and others will have suggestions...

I just quit smoking cigarettes and I am going to try vapeing, Could someone tell me what Mg of nicotine I should start useing
It depends quite a bit on the type of device you end up with. If you start with a cig alike such as an eroll or an mtl mini mod like an ego it could be as high as 36mg. But if you start on a big puffer like a baby beast it could be as low as 6mg. The more vapor the device produces the lower the relative concentration of nicotine wants to be.

If you want something really just like a cigarette mtl (mouth to lung) might be the way to go. People often at least try the big DL (direct lung) mods though and often never go back. It's all a question of what works for you.

I use a MTL device, at 15 mg nicotine and that does the trick for me. I agree with Trigster about what appeals to you from some of the major brands.

You do need to decide if you want to inhale less clouds of vapor in a smaller, higher nic device, or blow large clouds on a DL sub0hm device. It can be hard to tell if you are going to prefer one or the other. The pinned links in this forum: New Members Information may help you get started, and I'm sure Brother Bob, who kind of watches over this forum will be along to provide more helpful links. You really want to read up on types of device and try to see what appeals to you most. If you have a B&M near you, it might be a good idea to go in and actually handle some setups and ask questions about them. You don't have to purchase any of them, but it might give you a better idea.

Best of luck, I too was "ready" to quit when I got here, and even though I started out with a device that was all wrong for me, I was able to replace it with something more suited to my needs...

Welcome to ECF and congrats on your desire to quit smoking. :)

Hello Eddie, welcome to the forum. Kanger Subtank Mini & 40w Eleaf Istick a good budget friendly start up pair that you could grow with. Tank will let you start mouth to lung (mtl) and experiment with direct to lung (dtl). Good coil options. I started with 24/18mg nic. If you want cig like experience the Innokin Endura t18 & t22 are popular. Lot of options out there. Cruise online & pick out some that appeal to you & come to the forum for pros/cons.

The information below may answer some of your questions. Please stay away from advanced vape equipment. Recommend to start cheaply and simple and see if you like it.

Welcome, sounds like you have quit smoking. Alas, I have not, but I have cut my daily consumption by 15/20 per day. There is a thread for some of us who still struggle with quitting:

Still smoking support and chat thread

If you feel like checking in, please do so. this is a great community with really helpful knowledgeable people.

I should mention, I am currently using a Juul device which comes with liquids containing nic salts at 5%. When I was using my other currently non-functional device the nic level was 2.4. The numbers are apparently not comparable between nic salt juice and free base nicotine.

Hello and welcome to ecf. It took a while for me but I was finally able to quit the smokes with an Aspire Nautilus on an ego type battery and 24 mg/ml nic. I would caution to keep it simple in the beginning and go with a simple MTL system. Good luck.
