To the veterans out there.

I invite you all to take a peek at my up-coming e-shop and verify the legitimacy of the information I have posted. I have taken every measure I can to ensure I am not giving erroneous information to Joe the consumer.

As for the shop itself, there are not many items listed as of yet. All of the products are "out of stock" at the moment as well. Amazingly my first order from china is already sold to co-employees and friends. I have repeated over and over to people that this is a smoking alternative. Just as addicting as smoking, but without MOST of the side effects / downsides to smoking analog smokes.

Let me know what you think, did I deliver a correct message to the end user while still retaining the salesmen pitch? I even steered clear of a domain name that contains the word smoke, and choose vapor instead. Hopefully not to my demise :)

sorry guys.

http://www.vaporstix.com

Guess I ran off to bed last night and forgot to supply the link.
Don't expect the store to have alot of products just yet. Hopefully I'll have a better lineup before Christmas with any luck. Rather get the "stamp of approval" from the critics before I start advertising on the internet and make someone here mad with incorrect info :)

I was going to order through Central Trade but decided against it.

While they were very pleasant to work with, the only payment choice was by bank transfer. Evidently paypal, western union, ect. will come later. I just didn't feel comfortable wiring over $1000 to someone in China. I'll definitely give them a shot once they have other payment methods available.

The supplier I am working with now has been exceptional. Shipping is done via UPS, I ordered Friday night and they state I will have the UPS tracking # tonight. Typically it takes 5-7 days to get the goods from China to my location, per my sales rep. So we'll see.

Also, they do deal in smaller orders than what central trade does, though products become cheaper the more you buy. There are at least 4 other suppliers for the DSE901s in china, and Im sure many more. Took me all of a couple hours searching the internet and sending out emails for more info :)

Noticed a few typos and the soundbite that plays when the navigation bar loads is a tad annoying. Other than that... looks good to me. The prices are quite fair as well.

I shortened the sound byte used during the navigation bar load, to lower the annoying factor. I'll search out the typos (no spell check in the php coding tool I use).

As far as no script blocking the page, I'm not sure what that is about.
I use a pretty heavily modified version of OS Commerce for the site, Site is mainly PHP, SQL databases, Flash for the navigation bar, and some javascript for the Menu Navigation (Menu Navigation is loaded dynamically). Im guessing since the navigation is loaded near the header code of the page it is a highly probable reason you cannot get to the site.

There isn't much I can do about this unless I have a more specific reason why no script is blocking the page. I would be more than willing to try and work around any problems it has with my site. Feel free to let me know.

Page loads fine in IE6, IE7, and Firefox 3 (which is usually pretty picky about scripts).

As far as the sound byte, its a 2 second sound clip for the menu load. Not some long advertisement. Sound clip might be a better term than byte :)

That can be removed rather quickly as well if the general feedback is that it doesn't add any value and indeed takes away from the overall site design.

I would seriously reconsider rewriting the "How do the ingredients compare to traditional cigarettes?" section on the ecig-info.php page.

especially:
'...vastly different and infinitely safer than those found in traditional cigarettes'

and
'Nicotine itself is not believed to have toxicological effects...'

I'm not sure either of those statements would deem to be true in a court

'Nicotine itself is not believed to have toxicological effects...'

Nicotine itself IS KNOWN to have toxicological effects.
Nicotine itself is not believed to have CARCINOGENIC effects.

Whenever posting information like this it is advisable to make sure your wording and arguments are correct, followed by research and outside sources. Remember back to high school when you had to write all of those research papers...

lol,

edisme - Greed is corrected to Green (oops :) )

edisme & baalel
Good catch on the wording toxicological vs carcinogenic.

baalel - Removed infinitely thought about adding much, but left it just as safer. Figure that should be good enough :)

it's always good to forgo modifiers such as 'much' when creating a professional looking site- people see words such as 'much' and feel the seller is trying to play up certain things and become suspicious. People will be more apt to trust when the salespitch isn't garnished with modifiers
