The only time I have seen the "CHECK ATOMIZER" is when I had either a short or no contact on a rebuilt or rewicked coil. I'd swap out your coil first before sending the mod out.

I will try my rda on there but I've been using the same coil on the kayfun for a while. Plus, even with a short it shouldn't be firing, on or off.

So Cal
...this morning I awoke to the sound of my Kayfun sizzling and popping on top of the Mini. For some reason, even with the Mini turned off it keeps firing. If I turn it on it still keeps firing. The screen and buttons all work normally, although if I press the fire button while it's firing it just says "CHECK ATOMIZER" while continually firing so I feel like there might be a short in it somewhere.

I guess I have to send it in for a replacement now...

Just making sure we have all the details Raguvian:

So the screen will still light up when you hit fire button?
Does it auto dim after you release?
Does it allow you to shut off via the 5 rapid clicks?
And you see the normal boot iPV logo @boot?

If it were mine, I'd try everything I could think of before returning it. Id also take everything apart and clean contacts etc.

But running off of 1 18650 battery it'll end up draining your battery life quite quickly...

I don't think anyone has asked, but did you try removing the battery? Or even try another battery? If so, any change?

It didn't get wet or anything like that that could have entered the circuit board area under the screen, did it? Also check for moisture in the 510 female connector on the top of your mini.

Speaking of the 510, you didn't think the slot in the top of the center contact was an "adjustment" screw did you?

Would not waste my time.
All functions go through the board:
If it powers off and powers on.
Switches in/out of Mobil Mode
But still auto fires
The Board is Junked.......................................Unless ................

Only possibility is IF the poster was turning that darn Center pin - + wire may be mangled and hard shorting to the Battery + connection below the 510 connector.
Slim but possible solution as to why.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Ordered the Mini v2 after doing some money shuffling.
Should be here in a few days. I'll post comments once I do a full battery run on it.
They are CLAIMING this is a Limited Run - 9999 units (yea, Right)
Seems to me this is the IPV mini with the IPV 2S (UPDATED) 70w Chipset - i.e. factory flashed to 70w
Vape times should be comparable.

Everything functions as it should. The screen dims, reads the resistance, 5 click on and off works, IPV and Mini logo show up on boot, etc. The only other thing that goes wrong is that when I try and fire the mod it says "CHECK ATOMIZER". I've tried different batteries (all fairly new Samsung 25Rs), different attys (Kayfun and Vertex, both of which fire normally on my mech), etc and still it auto fires, even while turned off. I will try and make a video tomorrow showing the problem.

BTW, I know that the 510 pin isn't user adjustable and have never touched it.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN - IT IS OFFICIALLY TOAST!

Send it back... or if you bought it at a B&M and you have a good relationship with them, perhaps they'll exchange it under factory warranty! Again is bought at a B&M he can claim it was dead out of the box.

FYI- Its a 1 year warranty!

Here is the needed info and return form for Asmodus:

Thanks for the links. I will send it back today. Kind of sucks I have to pay $8 for servicing and shipping to Asmodus. Oh well.

I'm not sure if I trust these electronic mods anymore. It was sitting all night just fine and then in the morning all of a sudden it started auto firing. I shouldn't have kept my Kayfun screwed into it overnight I guess but at the same time you don't expect to wake up to your atty autofiring on your powered off mod.

Did you buy online or at a B&M? If a B&M, go talk to the owner/manager first. These have been out like 6-7 weeks, so yours is still clearly under warranty.

Even if you buy it from a B&M you still have to send it in to Asmodus for service.

Depends on the B&M.

Some will Exchange you APV and give you a New One on the Spot.

Some will just hand you an Address of where to Send it and tell you It's Not their Problem.

That was the response from the distributor I bought mine from 3 weeks after i purchased the first one. I think the $8.00 service charge is ridiculous but on a positive note, Asmodus turn around time is very quick. I had my replacement within a week.

The Advantage to me to buy from a B&M is so I can walk in and put my APV on the Counter and tell them I want an Exchange. If this is Not an Option, I see No Reason to pay B&M Prices for something. I just buy it on the Net.

I take this Same Approach with just about Everything I buy. Store vs. Internet wise. If All the Store is going to do is tell me to Send it to the OEM, it isn't a big attraction to buy from a Physical Store.

That does suck, $8 then have to pay for shipping too, end up paying a 3rd of the price of the mod, but guess better than having a no working mod though.

There are 1316 posts on this thread so my question might have come up... I just got my iPV mini last week and I got two Efest 2500mAh batteries and a charger . I am using an Aspire Atlantis Tank , but I find I have to recharge the battery every day. I may just be vaping a lot, but it seems strange a battery charge only lasts a day. I am vaping at 20 watt. Thankfully I have the spare battery to use while the depleted one is being charged.

    Is this average??

That sounds about right for 20W

I fully agree. I go through 1.5 batteries per day @ 30w However I went through 3 on my Mechanical with low ohm builds.

Remember, you are vaping on a lower ohm tank and likely already taking longer draws. Time is power spent.:)
