iPV Mini?

The pic I saw on the thread looks the same. I wish they would have waited get the kinks out of the original mini before they tooled up for a mini 2.
so far my mini is working fine. It really was what I was looking for. But, in the future I will wait till a device is on the market for awhile before I purchase.
My feelings exactly,.. I bought it like RIGHT when it came to my local vape shop. I even told the guy behind the counter as I was looking at it, "it's exactly what I need, but I hate buying things right when they release!" He said, "it's IPV, I wouldn't be worried about it at all". Still glad I made the purchase and I'm happy with it and mine doesn't seem to be malfunctioning at all, but still, wish i would have waited.
What tooling up? P4U doesn't build anything but the Casing and that is likely subcontracted also. YiHi makes the Chip. Same Case so my question is ............. Which Chip will occupy that space?
Mini works Perfect in DC-DC Mode with my .5ohm coils.
Of course I am running 5.ohm in my
(3) Omega RDA's
(2) Magma RDA's
(1) Orchid RTA (actually .6ohm)
Also helps that I run all of these at or near 25 watts.

One would hope that all of the iPV Minis are performing identically, within an acceptable margin of error.
Came home to find a brand new replacement iPV in the mail, from elev8. 
Initial tests with some decks that I already have built, same ~0.2ohm difference, meaning my 0.5 coil is measuring 0.3 on the mini and not able to fire. Bummer !!! I did notice that the bottom battery cap is the same number as the first one from elev8.
This really is not going to be that big of a deal as I usually vape over 1.0ohm. Which one to send back?

Yes, one would hope. Unfortunately for some, it is not.
My (2) match on device readings. Odd thing is some Atomizers seem to read .1ohm low while others read dead on.
Example:
Omega RDA's read as .4ohm but fire fine. All test out in the .5xohm range.
Magma RDA's Read .5ohm as expected.
Orchid reads 6.ohm correctly
Interesting. If this were a workmanship/QC problem with the mod itself, we could expect higher resistance readings. Yet the iPV Mini seems to err on the low side.
If an individual Mini read consistently low, one might look to other things, like differences between units; such as guage or quality of internal wire or differences in 510 connection quality or assembly. Since individual units seem to misread inconsistently, have you noticed a pattern at all; ie. a particular kanthal gauge reads consistently low while others do not? Different gauges should not make such a difference to electrons. But my mind is in troubleshooting mode.
Received my replacement from elev8 yesterday. 510 is much better and it's reading my Atlantis at .4. Normally not a big deal but I like the Atlantis at 30W and the .4 reading is supplying less power and less flavor than I like. Noticeable difference as I get more flavor at 30W on the IPV 2S which reads the coil as .5. Not a deal breaker, just not as much flavor on the mini. I do like the device and hope to get a lot of use out of it.
Received my IPV mini today that I ordered on 14th December (new record for USPS but I guess I should expect that around Christmas). Didn't even really look at the 510 just screwed on a lemo and it was working, thought I would try an Atlantis and see what it read the coil as and there was some crackling, luckily I realised some sort of short was happening and pulled the battery quickly. Had a look at the 510 and it has been pushed back into the device, appears that it was only being held in place by glue. I don't think I want another one, have emailed elev8 stating I would like a refund, the sad thing is whatever they choose to do is probably going to take ages but we'll see how they handle it.

Like the old saying ... "If it wasn't for bad luck, you wouldn't have any luck at all".
Now the problem is going to be shipping charges. My bet is they won't pay what it costs to send the Mini back. Any idea what that will cost?

If they were a 'stand-up' company, they would just send you a new Mini and tell you to throw that one in the trash.
BTW ... Did you attach that photo with the email you sent them?

Yeah I attatched that photo to the email and made sure to reiterate that I knew this was potentially quite a dangerous situation. If they did offer to just send a replacement straight away I would be happy with that, if they want this one back I will have to wait another 2-3 weeks for it to get to them and then another 2-3 weeks for it to come back. They charged me $14.90 for postage to get it in the first place so that is probably about right. I should have waited for a local vendor to get them in, they started appearing on local sites a few days ago, it did work out quite cheap though even with postage as I used a 15% code.
It has been an unlucky week, my nitecore charger failed the other day and caused a VTC5 to violently vent, luckily I am never too far away when charging and the only thing I lost was the battery and charger, so I have almost had 2 battery venting incidents in under a week without even doing anything stupid.

See me response below regarding my return to elev8
I had sent them an email regarding mine, they tried to tell me to deal with the warranty company, I wrote back and told them that was unacceptable. They sent me a new mini (received it last night), in the package was a return label (also included one for me to print in an email) an envelope to send one of them back, all shipping cost incurred by elev8. So far my experience with elev8 has been pretty good. I have yet to actually speak to someone breathing, but they have been pretty prompt with email response. My experience with my mini has not been as pleasant. I really like the iPV mini but the <~0.2ohm difference is leaving me feel very comfortable.
Well thats good to know, if they refuse a refund I'll just keep at them till they send me a replacement and return envelope. I actually really like the size and form factor of the mini as well as how easy it is to change batteries. I only got it as an out and about device that I can leave in the car for short periods or take out when it might get knocked around or rain so I had prepared myself and wasn't even too worried about getting one with a slightly crooked 510 or resistance reading slightly off.
Cost me $3 and change to send mine back 1st class. I didn't attach a photo as my RMA was approved.

Damn... I think that falls into the Catastrophic Failure category.
Love it when i get surprise vape mail ordered my ipv mini Wednesday am from Vapor Range in CA was at my door this morning in OHIO with free shipping, i was not expecting it till next week so it was a great surprise. Mine has been working flawlessly and the ohm reader is dead on. 
I don't know this for a fact. But after reading this thread thus far, my gut is screaming over the 510 connection. If someone wants to try soldering a VT or FD 510 into his/her iPV Mini, it just may clear up all the mysterious resistance issues as well. Do we trust P4Y more than we trust Yihi?
